Lilian had gone back to her apartment to sort things out and prepare for her boyfriend's arrival so Jayda was home alone.
After taking a shower and changing into her nightdress, she proceeded to the kitchen for a glass of orange juice which she would take along with the takeout she bought on her way back from work.
Before she could settle on the couch and enjoy her meal, there was a knock on the door.
She reluctantly went to answer the door and came face to face with a delivery guy who was with a big rectangular box. Jayda found it weird for him to be doing deliveries at night and besides she didn't order anything so he must have come to the wrong place or at least come to ask for directions.
"Good evening ma'am." He greeted.
"Good evening. How may I help you?" She asked.
"Miss Jayda Wright?" He asked. She nodded.
"This is for you." He stretched out the package for her to accept.
"I didn't order anything." She clarified, giving the delivery guy a confused look.
"It was ordered on your behalf ma'am." He encouraged her to sign for and accept the package which she did.
Jayda shut her door and proceeded to her living room. She sat on the couch and began to unravel what was in the box.
A smile tugged at her lips as soon as she came across all that was in the box. An elegant red dress, a pair of matching heels, clutch and jewellery. There was a note in the box so she reached for it and read what it said even when she already had an idea of who it came from.
"I have an event to attend on Friday. Please be my date. I promise it will be worthwhile." Sebastian...
Jayda blushed and kept the note aside. She took out the dress from the box and admired it. It was her size and she could tell Sebastian spent quite a lot on it. The heels were her size and the jewellery was so beautiful.
She placed all the items in the box and took it to her room. Then she reached for her phone on the nightstand and dialled Sebastian who picked up immediately.
"Hey," He said excitedly, perhaps because he had been expecting her call to know if she would be his date for the event.
"I just got the package." She said to him.
"Will you accompany me? I really have to show up for this event and I don't want to go alone or with another person. Please be my date?" He said nervously.
She smiled, "I'd be honoured to accompany you."
"Thank you, I promise it will be worth your time," Sebastian assured.
"I'm sure it will, as far as you're there with me, Thanks for the dress and jewellery. I love them."
"You're welcome. I can't wait to see them on you. I can already picture you being the most beautiful at that event."
Jayda blushed. "Thanks, but I think you should slow down on the gifts. Don't you think you're spoiling me too much?"
"I don't think so, Jayda. You deserve all the amazing things of life and I will continue to spoil you with gifts as long as I can afford them." Sebastian said sincerely.
"Okay then, I shall continue to accept them with love." She smiled.
"So how are you and my little one doing? Have you had dinner already?"
"We are doing fine. I was about to before I was interrupted by the delivery guy."
"Oh, I'm sorry about that."
"No problem." "How are you doing? I hope you've had dinner too?"
"I'm good. And I was just about to warm some leftovers."
"By the way, Lilian stopped by the office to see me today," he added.
"Yes, she told me. I hope she didn't say anything silly?" Jayda asked hopefully.
"No. She came to lecture me on how she would hunt me down if I do anything to hurt you or her god baby."
Jayda chuckled. Lilian was really taking her godmother duties very seriously.
"She's a good friend, you're so lucky to have her."
"I know! She's one of the best things that has ever happened to me and so is this baby." She confessed.

Jayda was on her feet, beside her desk, sorting out some documents when she heard someone knock on her glass-walled door. She took a look at the entrance and saw that it was Olivia. She gestured for her to come in and Olivia did just that.
As soon as Jayda turned to face her, she was instantly pulled into a hug by Sebastian's younger sister.
Even though Jayda was confused as to why she deserved a hug from Olivia, she returned her hug.
"Thank you!" Olivia muttered with her arms wrapped around Jayda. And what followed was someone sniffing.
"Olivia, are you crying?" Jayda whispered.
Olivia pulled away from the hug and Jayda could see tears in her eyes. "Sorry, I'm just overwhelmed. Yesterday, Sebastian told me about you and the baby and I'm really happy for you and him."
"I found it hard to believe at first because I never saw it coming between the two of you. I'm always around you most times and not even once did I picture you with my brother."
"I'm sure he told you about Susan, it took awhile for Seb to recover from all she did. It was one of the hardest things we had to go through as a family."
"Now that this has happened, I wouldn't have asked for a better girlfriend for my brother and a better mother for my niece or nephew, I'm very happy for you and I'm also happy Sebastian, Congratulations!"
Jayda smiled, "Thank you!" She was relieved Olivia approved of her because Sebastian's family approval meant a lot to her.
"In case Sebastian hurt you in any way, Just let me know and I'll make sure I beat him up"
Jayda chuckled, she was glad everyone was promising to be there for her. "I'm sure there won't be any need for that. Sebastian has assured me that he won't break my heart and I've also promised the same."
"You guys are so perfect for each other. I hope I find what you both have."
"You will," Jayda assured, pulling Olivia into a hug. "Your approval really means a lot. Thanks."
Olivia giggled. "You are welcome. I should go back to the work my boss asked me to do before she fires me." Olivia teased which earned a chuckle from Jayda, knowing she was referring to her.

At noon, Jayda received two unexpected visitors. Lilian and Roman.
She approached Roman and pulled him into a bone-crushing hug.
"I missed you, Rome. Please don't accept any more offer that will make you leave us for as long as two months"
Roman chuckled, "I missed you too bunny and Congratulations on being a Partner of this prestigious firm. I'm really proud of you." He kissed her forehead.
"Thank you!" She smiled.
"Okay, Lilian is here also, Doesn't she deserve a hug too?" Lily said in a jealous tone.
Jayda finally freed Roman from the hug and hugged her best friend who was pretending to be jealous.
She ushered both of them to the visitors' area of her office, they settled on the couch and Jayda served them wine.
"Sorry I can't join you guys in the wine fest, I will stick to my orange juice." She took a sip of her juice before settling on a couch opposite her best friends.
"Lilian told me everything on our way back from the airport. I truly admire your strength Jayda and I can't wait to give Sebastian my warning too."
"Thanks to your girlfriend, She kept me sane and was always there for me whenever I needed advice or a shoulder to cry on." She winked at Lilian who had a proud smile on her face.
"So I assume you've met Sebastian before," Jayda said to Roman.
"Yes, Gabriel introduced me to him when I attended one of Lilian's family gatherings. I must say, you are glowing and looking very radiant. I can see Sebastian's influence on you." Roman said as he wrapped his arms around Lilian's neck.
"Oh please, we are taking it slow." Jayda blushed.
"Jayda means everything to that cousin of mine, he is ready to do anything for her and I have no doubt she is in good hands," Lily assured her boyfriend.
Jayda brushed her fingers over the tip of her glass cup which still had some orange juice in it. "I'm happy it was all a blessing in disguise." She smiled.
"Now enough about me. how was your trip, Roman? and I hope you bought something for me." She pouted.
Lilian chipped in, "He dare not return empty-handed. Your gift is at my place, I will bring them when I come over to your place."
Jayda nodded.
"My trip was fine, I don't think I'll be travelling for a while, at least not for work purposes. I want to settle down and start my own family." He looked at Lilian with dreamy eyes.
"Perfect! I don't have to worry about my baby not having a playmate," Jayda said excitedly which made Lilian blush even more.
