He dropped the dead deer to the ground and stared at her. The fire had died to embers and that made the cave darker and colder than even moments before.
He growled, lowering his muzzle closer to the ground and then he flew forward, knocking her roughly against the cave walls as he bolted from the cave.
She dropped like dead weight, but scrambled up as fast as she could, her paws gripping and pulling herself back to her feet. If it was the last thing she ever did, she would give it all she had left.
She ran out after him, Grayson!
She leapt and lost her footing, tumbling down the steep grade to the forest floor below. Somehow that leap of faith had seemed like a decent idea.
Her back crashed into a near bolder and she whined from the pain. Her body giving up its gumption, Grayson...
Her muscles shook as she felt herself loosing hold of her wolf-side. She shifted, her fur shrinking away to reveal her naked, limp body.
It was like being hit with a baseball bat, then put through a blender. She came to and blinked her eyes open, not moving.
She realized now just how different the two states of being were. She felt helpless in her human form and at the mercy of whatever didn't want to spare her.
Trying to catch her breath, she lied still in the horrid cold against the boulder. She felt her fingertips numbing, so she removed them from the snow and brought them to her chest, but that didn't do much. Attempting to stand, her legs gave out, she couldn't believe the toll shifting had done, it had paralyzed her! This had to be her new death, especially since Grayson had taken off.
Her skin chilled, rising with the biggest goosebumps she'd ever experienced and then out of frustration and fear, she screamed. Shrieking till her lungs hurt and she had to force herself to pause the insanity.
Her eyes flashed around her, the darkness consuming. She screamed again and then finally got herself to calm. Swallowing, she looked around, hearing some branches and falling snow crash from the near trees.
She was afraid, mostly because she had no way to defend herself and that was more than frightening. She hoped to god it was Grayson though, having heard her fear driven outburst.
Her eyes squinted into the deep, dark forest as footsteps approached, but she didn't know the direction they came from.
She snapped her head to the left as Colten bound out of the bushes, shaking his coat of snow and dirt. He walked towards her, calm.
She blanched, her cheeks a bright red from the cold and embarrassment. She wrapped her arms around her bare chest and brought her knees up to cover herself from him.
“Thanks for leaving me!” she shot, jaw jittering, “I just saw Grayson and he took off!”
Colten lied down next to her.
She closed her eyes as he inched closer, moving her arm under his nose and trying to tug her on his back.
“No, I'm naked!”
Colten pulled her on his back and stood, turning to jump up on the boulder she'd collided with, but he didn't get a chance to continue his actions. They both turned their heads to the loud, heavy approaching steps. Colten spun and she had to grip him to stay on. She cringed, his fur smooth and slick and cringed at her open display.
Those thoughts were quick to vanish though as Grayson walked from the bushes, growling and snapping.
Colten didn't receive much of a chance to prepare himself for the next bit of action.
Grayson lunged on top of him and grabbed his neck, slamming him against the boulder.
Chloe was well off the back of the white wolf and on her side in no time; the underbrush of the forest lacerating her skin. So cold she could hardly think straight, she knew enough to scream at them, “No! Grayson, he's good!”
Colten whipped around and the ground shook as he tossed Grayson against the floor, pinning him. He snapped and drooled all over Grayson's grey matted coat.
She stared at them, shaking, frozen and not knowing what else to do, but hoping they wouldn't kill each other!
Colten jumped off Grayson and snapped at him once more, almost in warning, but obviously leaving the fight. Though Grayson still kept his snappy attitude and snarled at him, he backed down.
The white wolf took off, quick to blend into the snowy, dark backdrop.
She looked to Grayson as he walked towards her. His breath on her, warming her blue skin. He licked her neck where a gash bled.
She pulled away, “Grayson... I'm... I'm... c-cold.”
He wrapped around her and lay down in the snow. She curled into him and felt some relief, but it still wasn't enough. She climbed on top of his back to get away from the icy forest floor. Her arms rung around his neck and she pulled him in closer, her legs curling around his sides. She shivered again as a cold wind blew against her.
He stood and she gripped him, closing her eyes, “I'm weak... I can't shift... I can hardly grip you right now.”
He walked forward and she tried to sink herself into him and wrap her arms in his dirt filled fur. She didn't care if he was full of mud, at that moment all that mattered was the direct contact with him, and it was good. Better than she imagined it would be.
“Grayson.” she swallowed, closing her eyes, “I missed you.”
He shook and lunged forward. Gripping him; she screamed, trying not slip off. She dug her bare toes to his coat and cringed.
He bound up a steep ledge and it left her hanging on for life. She dug her knees to his sides and decided she wouldn't open her eyes, not till he stopped and she knew a whole mountain wasn't below them anymore. Heights had never been a favourite of hers.
He ran down a grade and she felt the snow thrown around her. She had no idea where they were going but...
She opened her eyes and saw the timber mansion, “What are you doing!” she tightened her grip, “Darcy will-”
He growled and trotted onto the property towards the back of the house.
“Grayson... no...” she whined, her heart starting to pound as he made his way to the front of the house and jumped high into the air, shifting midway.
She scrambled to grab his now smaller neck as he landed on the edge of the roof, clinging to the near windowsill. He pushed the window open and lifted her over his shoulder, placing her inside.
She ducked inside his room and felt the immediate warmth, but it didn't stop the insanity of what he was doing, “Are you even supposed to be here!”
She tingled and burned and then looked to his bed, which seemed immensely inviting. She walked to it and curled into it, shivering alongside her teeth clatter.
“Chloe.”
Her eyes opened the second she heard his low voice. It took her core to a whole new level and her stomach muscles cramped. She peeked out from the large duvets and looked up at him as he stood naked in front of her.
Her mouth watered from that image, she could feel herself yearning for him, “Grayson.”
He swallowed and dropped into the bed, slow, careful, looking down at her as he moved the covers down her face and neck, “You're-”
“It's a long story.” She breathed, taking his cheeks and feeling the immense satisfaction of being with her mate. That was a first.
He dropped his mouth to her cheek, “Do you feel warmer?”
She pinged with heat and throbbing, she knew what parts of her felt warmer, unfortunately, it wasn't the parts that involved limb movement.
He tensed and she heard his muscles harden, the actual crunching sound that came, freaked her out.
She swallowed, “What the heck was that?”
“I'm dreaming,” he stated, then dropped his mouth to her neck, nibbling at her skin and breathing her in. Her body filled with her bursting hormones. The internal wolf part of her was now on her knees begging for Grayson Holtz.
“No.” she breathed, “I'm very real.”
He opened his mouth and trailed his lips across her collar bone, “Mm.”
She felt a slow burn building in her, “Won't Darcy-”
He sunk his mouth into her neck, “I don't care about Darcy. Mate me.”
Chloe gripped his cheeks and pulled him from her, reality setting in.
He paused and stared down at her little self, “No? You won't?”
She choked, “Yes.”
He dropped his mouth to her and kissed her so long and hard, she wasn't sure she could stand much more. The blankets covering her, he pulled back to reveal her chest. Which he touched without hesitation.
She stopped him though, something wasn't right about him. He looked hungry.
“Grayson.”
He swallowed, “I was looking for you, Little, everywhere.”
“Colten, h-he saved me.”
He growled, annoyed with the information.
“Maybe, we should talk about that later?”
“Whoever that is, yeah.” He confirmed the shutting-up with her. Dropping his face to her cheek and wrapping his arms around her, where biting into her neck.
Her eyes fluttered and she crumbled beneath his touch, moaning, “We're safe then?”
“Mate me.” He repeated in a dark tone. His muscles shook, shaking under her hands as he licked his lips again.
“Do I smell like dead deer, is that why you keep licking your lips?”
“No.”
She understood what his problem was though. No explaining necessary.
He slipped his arm under her back and grabbed hold of her shoulder, “Don't move, Little.”
“Okay.” her heart sped and he moved atop her, ripping the covers between them away.
He came over top of her in a fast movement and dropped his mouth to her neck, “I love you. So much.”
She gripped him close, “Me too.” Her stomach knotted and her skin itched, burned even. She reached to scratch her neck.
His eyes darkened and in that split second, he pinned her arm, “I want to mark you. Now.” His weight adjusted on her, coming between her thighs.
“Oh.” She got out.
“Say yes.” He panted, nibbling at her.
“Yes.” She broke, preparing herself.
His mouth dropped along her neck and he licked her, once, twice... and bit into her.
A sharp and immediate pain shot through her. She cried out, whimpering as it sent her body through waves of pain. She gripped his hair, “Gray. Ow.”
He bit harder and she bucked against him, tears pooling her eyes as her knees tightened on his sides. He lowered himself against her, pinning her down.
Whatever was happening wracked her body in huge and impossible amounts of pain. She bucked again, “Grayson.”
He growled, holding her down tighter and digging his canines deeper in her soft skin.
“Grayson.” Her knuckles cracked as she gripped his shoulders with as much strength as she possessed, but felt herself giving in, giving up the fight.
His teeth stayed hitched on her, moving her wrists above her head to stop any more protests.
Her body coursed with burning and then he let up on her. Unhooking his bite and lifting his mouth, licking his lips clean of her bright red blood.
She wrapped her hands to the branded gash on her neck, “Jeez.”
He looked her over, “Too much?”
She swallowed, “You just bit my neck.”
He sighed, dropping his nose against hers, “And I need to finish the bond. I need to.”
She stared at him, having a pretty good idea of what he meant.
“Deep breaths, Chloe.”
But she couldn't breathe, no matter how hard she tried.
He lifted an eyebrow at her tension, “It means you need to relax.” Moving forward with the bond.
She broke. Her world, the walls in it began crumbling into oblivion as he joined them in a deep thrust.
Kissing her, his hand tracing along her neck and jaw. Their mouths crushing and biting into one another. He pressed into her a bit more and she burned, arching against it.
He hushed her, “It's alright. Relax.”
She swallowed, “What's supposed to happen next? Or are we just supposed to do it?”
“I don't know.” He shared her nervousness, “I'm not really running on knowledge.”
“What are you running on then?” She huffed.
“Instinct.” He admitted.
She stared up at him, that bit of information frightening to her. His hand trailed across her pelvis and to her breast, lightly etching along her hard nipple.
Making her body fly, she became a mumble-jumbled mess.
He sunk his mouth against the mark on her neck, where he sucked and lapped at her.
She blushed, her cheeks hot to touch, “You're so hot, Grayson.” Her gut turned, almost warning her not to mess with him. Not his big alpha-ness, not at that moment.
He brushed his nose against her face and kissed her, “Really?”
“Yeah, in a really, wolfie-way.”
He smiled, “Thanks, Little. Now, open your legs more.”
She burned and did the opposite of what he wanted, tightening her knees around him. He growled and her breathing hitched from the low sound.
He nuzzled her, smelling her hair, “Now, Chloe, please.”
Her mind raced but really, what other choice did she have but to do as he said. He had more idea of what was going on than her it seemed.
She loosened her thighs and he moved quick, pushing deep inside her. She let out a loud gasped, bracing her neck and holding onto him.
He bit her ear lobe, “You smell like mine.”
She ran her hands up his chest and into his hair, “What's that smell like?”
“Soft, sweet. A meadow, maybe,” his tongue lapped along her neck and she arched against him. Her breasts rubbing his chest causing her hormones to burst to the surface of her now damp, hot skin.
“Mm.” he smelled her again, slipping out of her, “New hormones.”
She swallowed, “Huh? What new hormones? Why did you stop?”
He kissed her, “It might hurt, but don't be afraid.” His tongue loosened her jaw and he pulled her tight against him, deepening their kiss.
She sucked in a breath and nodded, though she didn't know what to be ready for.
He put a hand on her cheek and took her. His length larger than moments before and widening her, shattering her existence. All her muscles tightened, her walls constricting around his length.
She let out a yelp and grabbed his shoulders, deepening the contact till it felt right.
“What's going on?” The instinctive need in her was scary and she'd never experienced something so out of her control.
He tipped her chin up and dropped his mouth to her neck, sucking on the mark, “I don't really know.”
Her abdomen ached with the most awful cramps in her life, but he didn't seem to be in the same kind of pain, but his lapping on her neck helped.
She put a hand to her stomach and rubbed, “It's hurting. I can't relax.”
“Just breathe.” he closed his eyes and dropped his face to her neck. “Yes.” he growled and stilled.
Throbbing, he grew in her.
She wiggled and he pinned her to the bed quick.
“Don't move.”
She shook and surely he felt it, but he pushed deeper, his breathing turning to loud pants.
“What's going on?”
His hand cradled her cheek, “Mating you. Finally.” He got out, almost incapable of speech and somewhere else in that moment, somewhere with his wolf. Satisfied and gruff.
“Oh my god.” She flew with sensation, the mating intoxicating. Just like everything that involved Grayson Holtz and her.
Suddenly, her muscles released, his length easing on her walls and she filled with glorious new strength.
“That...” he rolled his neck and shoulders, “That feels nice.” He shrunk inside her to a more manageable size, one more familiar to her.
She put her hands to his shoulders and felt his muscles. Dense, thick, and worship worthy. Like he'd taken a beef-cake pill and she smiled from that thought.
“Are you okay?” she asked him.
“Very okay.” He dropped his mouth to her and kissed her cheek.
“That was odd.” She breathed, trying to dig her fingers into him but they slipped, his skin so tight against his strength.
“You're all bulgy muscles to an extreme level.” She noted how euphoric he looked and drugged.
His eyes rolled back and shut. Then started to kiss her neck and shoulders, “Thank you.” He rocked his pelvis against hers, pushing her hips up the bed slowly.
“For what?” she swallowed, enjoying his thorough thrusting.
“Giving me a new life.” He whispered, taking her.
