Who's My Triplet's Alpha Daddy?

Chapter 145

Ch. 145 / 245 Apr 30, 2026

I find Thalia in her office, reviewing intelligence reports. She reads my face in half a second and sets down her pen.

"This isn't about the war, right?"

"It's about Caroline. I'm asking for the Luna's blessing on our marriage."

No surprise—she's been expecting this. She gestures to the chair.

"Sit down. I need to understand what this means before I put my seal on it."

I take a seat. I came armed with arguments, but she's skipping straight to implications.

"I gave you my personal support when you claimed Caroline publicly, and I meant it." She folds her hands on the desk. "But Luna's official sanction on a marriage is different from an encouragement."

She waits for a second and then continues:

"A human mate is unprecedented in Silvermoon's recorded history. A mate from the hunter bloodline that's been attacking us for months creates complications that will echo through this pack for decades."

"I understand the complications."

"What do you understand specifically? I'm going to ask questions, and I need honest answers. Not romantic ones, Lysander."

"Ask."

"Are you prepared for wolves who will never accept her? Elder Harmon's bloc, the traditionalists who believe bloodline purity is the foundation of supernatural survival. They'll view your marriage as contaminated and pass that conviction to their children."

"I'm aware of their position. Caroline has already survived the worst this pack offered. She fought hunters and earned Garrett's grudging respect. If she handled the trial, she can handle the permanence."

"The trial had an endpoint, but marriage doesn't," Thalia's eyes hold mine. "What about children?"

The question lands on the bruise Caroline and I have been pressing all day. "What about them?"

"If you have children, they'll carry hybrid heritage. Half human, half wolf, with a maternal bloodline that includes the most notorious hunter family in North America. Those children will face questions about loyalty, identity, and their right to belong."

Her voice softens: "My triplets endured that scrutiny, and they're full-blooded Fenris. Your children would face it magnified."

"My kids would also have a mother who sacrificed everything and a father who refused to let prejudice shape his family. Heritage isn't destiny, Thalia. You proved that—the wolfless girl who became the White Luna."

"I was born into this pack, while Caroline arrived as a wartime outsider. Wolves with long memories will see the distinction."

"We build a new context. Every generation has expanded what belonging means, and Caroline is the next expansion."

"The mate bond," her voice goes careful, navigating territory she knows from personal devastation. "Caroline lacks the supernatural capacity to receive it the way a wolf mate would."

"You and Kieran lost your bond entirely, and you're still married. Still partners and still the strongest couple I know," I hold her gaze. "An incomplete bond is a relationship that works harder to communicate what the bond would have provided automatically."

"That's a mature answer."

"Just trying to be honest. The asymmetry stings sometimes—knowing I feel her through my wolf while she feels me through human senses alone. But she chose me without the bond telling her to. Every morning she wakes beside a man who turns into a wolf and decides to stay."

"What does Caroline want from pack integration? Beyond the emotional commitment, I mean."

"She wants to belong, to contribute using her skills—legal expertise, strategic analysis, the intelligence training her father gave her. And she wants the pack to see her as Caroline Fenris, not Montgomery."

"She's taking your name?"

"Sure she is! A name that doesn't come with a kill order."

"Fair point." Something shifts in Thalia's expression—the assessment completing, the verdict forming.

"One more question. If Silvermoon faces catastrophic pressure from an enemy that could destroy us, are you confident Caroline's loyalty holds?"

"She handed over her father's entire operational legacy knowing it would exile her permanently." My voice is steady, backed by evidence beyond romantic faith. "Her loyalty isn't conditional. It's structural—built into who she is, load-bearing, incapable of failing without the entire person collapsing first."

"Very well," Thalia stands, and warmth replaces assessment across her face. "The marriage is officially sanctioned under Silvermoon pack law. Caroline is formally welcomed as your mate with full pack recognition and protection."

"Thalia—"

"I'll officiate tomorrow in the compound clearing. Every wolf who's questioned whether a human belongs here will watch their Luna declare that this union has my complete endorsement."

She rounds the desk and takes my hands. "You deserve this, Lysander. Both of you. After everything you've endured, you deserve something that's just about love."

"Thank you. For caring enough to ask the hard questions before giving the yes."

"That’s how I make sure the yes is worth giving." She allows herself a smile—small, genuine, the first I've seen in weeks. Light breaking through weeks of exhaustion and war. "At least something good is coming out of all this chaos."

"It is."

"Tell Caroline the woman who broke a tie vote to keep her here is proud of who she's become. And that having a sister-in-law who fights with cast iron skillets is exactly the energy this family needs."

I squeeze her hands and release them, carrying the Luna's blessing like a shield against every obstacle that remains.

Her sanction doesn't eliminate opposition, but it reshapes the landscape entirely—challenging our marriage now means challenging the Luna who defeated her own sister in single combat.

The appetite for that confrontation has diminished considerably.

But there's one more conversation before tomorrow. One that matters differently, that touches something older and more personal than pack law or Luna's blessing.

Kieran.

He is in the library working on the vampire council draft. I need to tell him I'm getting married—not as a political announcement but as a brother sharing the most important decision of his life.

Kieran chose Thalia against the world's objections. He fought for his marriage when the bond was destroyed. If anyone understands loving someone against impossible odds, it's the man sitting alone in a library, proving an Alpha without a wolf can still protect his pack with his mind.

The library door is closed. I knock twice, the way we've done since we were boys—our signal that says it's me, and whatever you're doing can wait.

His voice carries through the wood, tired but present: "Come in, Lys."

I open the door and step into whatever comes next.
