Trapped by Him

Chapter 341

Ch. 339 / 398 Feb 22, 2026

Luana checked the time and realized she had slept until late afternoon, around four or five o'clock.

The countless missed calls on her phone screen hadn't managed to wake her up from her deep slumber.

She really could sleep through anything. As she thought this, she swiped to unlock her phone, wondering who had been calling so persistently.

To her surprise, she found hundreds of missed calls, all from Mr. Night.

He had not only been calling her non-stop throughout the night and day but had also sent countless messages to her.

She had slept so soundly that she hadn't heard a single ring or notification.

Luana didn't rush to call him back but instead opened WhatsApp to see what he had written.

At first, Mr. Night had asked, "Where are you? Send me your location."

Gradually, his messages became more suspicious. "Are you with another man?"

Eventually, his tone turned aggressive. "If you dare be with another man, I'll kill you."

Luana found his messages utterly unreasonable and swiped to close the chat window, not bothering to respond.

She noticed that Laura had also sent her a message, urging her to return to the company to hand over some work.

Luana got out of bed, hastily tidied herself up, grabbed her bag, and left the presidential suite.

As she approached the elevator, Calvert emerged from it.

"Miss Hammond, you're awake?"

Calvert had seen her wake up and walked over to her, examining her from head to toe.

He had checked on her earlier in the morning but hadn't wanted to disturb her sleep.

After attending several meetings at the Coburn Group's branch, he had come back to check again and found her still fast asleep.

He hadn't had the heart to wake her, so he let her continue sleeping.

Now, seeing her finally awake, he felt somewhat intrigued. He had never met someone who could sleep so soundly.

Feeling a bit uneasy under Calvert's gaze, Luana quickly nodded.

"Thank you, Mr. Coburn, for letting me stay overnight. I hope I didn't cause you any trouble."

She was about to leave when Calvert remembered what Gath had done and quickly called out to her.

"Miss Hammond, there's something I need to tell you."

"What is it?" she asked.

"Have you eaten yet? How about I treat you to a meal, and we can talk while we eat?"

Luana was not keen on having a meal with Calvert. It felt like asking for trouble.

"No, thank you, Mr. Coburn. You can tell me here," she replied.

Calvert awkwardly scratched his nose, took out his phone, opened the photo Gath had taken, and showed it to Luana.

"Gath, the doctor who came yesterday, took a picture of us and posted it on Instagram. Some unreliable people even shared it on Twitter. The photo spread all over around last night, and I just saw it today. I'm really sorry about that."

Luana glanced at the photo, which simply showed Calvert standing by the bed, looking at her. There was nothing particularly alarming about it, so she didn't pay much attention.

"It's okay, Mr. Coburn. Just make sure it's handled properly."

She thought that with Calvert's influence, deleting a single photo would be no problem.

"I've already taken care of it. No one will be spreading it around anymore," he assured her.

"Good," Luana nodded and turned to leave, but Calvert unexpectedly stopped her again.

"Miss Hammond, let me treat you to a meal. It's my way of apologizing for Gath's rude behavior."

Luana shook her head, declining, "No, I need to get to the company now."

Calvert quickly added, "I called Mr. Ortega today since you didn't wake up and took the liberty of asking for your leave."

Luana was taken aback for a moment, which explained why Laura hadn't urged her to come to the company this morning after sending a message.

She looked at Calvert thoughtfully, wondering what his intentions were in helping her like this.

After all, five years ago, he had sternly warned her to stay away from him. Why was he helping her now?

Calvert's persistent invitations seemed to indicate that he wouldn't give up until she agreed to have a meal with him.

His personality was as stubborn as ever, but his character seemed to have changed.

Curious about his true intentions, Luana decided not to refuse and followed him downstairs.

As they stepped out of the elevator, they ran into Cline.

Dressed in a black suit, Cline seemed to blend into the dim shadows, his deep and obscure face suddenly turning cold the moment he saw the two of them.

When Luana's gaze met his sinister and icy eyes, her face turned pale instantly.
