The Alpha’s Wrath
Alpha Damon rolled his shoulders as he stepped out of the meeting room, his mind still preoccupied with pack matters.
His pack’s future was always his priority, but today, his thoughts kept drifting elsewhere—to a certain matchmaker who had been on his mind since their last conversation.
Just as he was about to head to his office, his Beta walked in.
“Beta Logan,” Damon acknowledged with a nod. “How’s your mating ceremony coming along?”
Logan straightened. “Everything is going smoothly, Alpha.”
Damon noticed the tightness in his Beta’s expression. Logan was never one to hide his emotions well, and right now, his face was clouded with unease.
Damon’s sharp eyes narrowed. “What is it?”
Logan hesitated for a brief moment before speaking. “It’s about Amber.”
Damon stiffened at the mention of her name. “What about her?”
Logan took a breath. “Cecilia slapped her.”
Damon’s entire body tensed. “What?”
“I heard it from the patrol guards,” Logan continued. “Amber was on her way out when she ran into Cecilia. Cecilia confronted her about matchmaking you, and when Amber told her she didn’t meet the criteria you wanted in a mate, Cecilia lost it. She slapped Amber in front of everyone.”
Damon’s eyes darkened with fury. His jaw clenched, and his fists tightened at his sides.
Cecilia had dared to lay her hands on Amber?
His voice was low, dangerous. “Where is she now?”
As if on cue, the doors swung open, and Cecilia strutted in like she owned the room. Her silver gown hugged her figure, her red lips curled in a seductive smile as she walked toward him with slow, deliberate steps.
“Alpha,” she purred, her voice dripping with honey.
Logan cast Damon a knowing glance before excusing himself, as he always did whenever Cecilia made her unwanted advances.
As soon as the door closed behind Logan, Damon turned his icy glare on Cecilia. “Where are you coming from?”
Cecilia blinked at the sharpness in his tone but quickly recovered, flipping her hair over her shoulder. “I was at the healer’s quarters. My mother needed me.”
Damon took a step forward, his towering presence radiating authority. “Why did you harass Amber?”
Cecilia’s eyes widened in feigned innocence. “Harass her? I did no such thing.”
His jaw tightened. “Don’t lie to me, Cecilia.”
She placed a hand on her chest. “Alpha, I would never—”
Damon cut her off with a glare. “Should I call Amber here to confirm your story?”
Cecilia’s confident expression faltered for the briefest moment.
Damon didn’t miss it.
“I…” She let out a soft laugh, waving her hand dismissively. “Fine. I slapped her.”
Damon’s entire body radiated pure dominance, his anger barely restrained. “You think you can go around attacking people and still have the audacity to stand here like nothing happened?”
Cecilia’s playful smirk returned as she stepped closer, reaching for his arm. “Alpha, you know I’ve always wanted to be yours.”
He slapped her hand away before she could touch him.
Cecilia gasped, clearly not expecting the rejection.
His voice was sharp, cutting through the air like a blade. “You will never be mine, Cecilia.”
Her face twisted with frustration. “Why not? Everyone already assumes I will be your Luna! It’s only natural that—”
“I don’t care what anyone assumes,” Damon growled. “You have no place beside me, and after what you did to Amber, you have no place in my pack either.”
Her eyes widened in shock. “You… You can’t be serious.”
Damon stepped back and called out, “Guards!”
Two pack warriors immediately entered, their expressions stoic.
Cecilia turned to them, panic setting in. “Damon, please! Don’t do this!”
He met her gaze coldly. “Take her out.”
The guards moved swiftly, grabbing her arms.
“No! Let me go! Damon, you can’t do this to me!” Cecilia screamed, struggling against their grip. “Ok, I'm sorry. You don't need to do this. Please hear me out.”
Damon didn’t even flinch.
As the guards dragged her out of the room, her screams faded into the distance.
