I am watching the naked beauty sleep next to me. I can't believe we did after all that we have been through. All the breakup and running away, the fights and making up.
'You fucking bastard, you did it!' My brother beams through the mind link. I look at the ring around my finger. I can't believe we eloped and got married.
'How can you deny me this, you know how important it was to see you get married,' Caliana scolds,
'I'm sorry, you can throw a small party tomorrow evening but nothing grand like you planned or we'll leave again,' I warn.
'Fine,' she concedes.
Caliana has been rooting for us since the beginning of our relationship and promised to throw us a lavish wedding but we couldn't stand the pressure so we decided to get married to only a few witnesses there, my niece, Love, and three of her friends. My wife stirs and places her hand over my torso, she opens her eyes only to smile. I kiss her lips before she closes her eyes back to sleep. Pauline wasn't only beautiful, and charismatic she cared about me even though I kept chasing her away because I was still in love with Ansley. She never gave up on me and slowly, she consumed my thoughts and all I could think about was her.
'Remember the day we met?' My Lycan chuckled at the memory of Pauline.
Flashback
We met at a bar in the city and had the best sex of my life, she left in the morning, and neither of us said a word to each other. because I didn't want to pursue a serious relationship with anyone but thoughts of her consumed my mind, her soft moans and our moves, fuck, she was amazing. Unable to concentrate on work the following day, I decided to go to the hospital to see my nephew but I wasn't expecting to see my pretty one-night stand there. Her eyes widened when she saw me and she stood up and rushed to put my nephew in her crib.
"What are you doing here?!" I asked her sharply, her demeanor shrunk and I momentarily closed my eyes, realizing I came too strongly.
"I mean, what-" I couldn't formulate any words.
"I work for Luna Caliana as her assistant, sir," She answered, her voice soft but confident. I only nodded and approached the crib. Her gaze followed and my heart raced. I felt fucking pathetic. I ignored her and stared at my nephew, he was perfect indeed
"He's beautiful, heh," She sighed and my gaze roamed to her, nodding.
We stayed silent for a while until I said " What is your name?"
"Pauline,"
I swallowed and extended my hand to greet her,
"I'm Jamal,"
"I know," She whispered, her cheeks flushing pink and she was too cute. We stared at each other until the door opened and Edward entered the room. His eyes immediately went to his sleeping mate and then his son before us.
"Do you know each other?"
"No," We both answered at once, he raised his eyebrows but didn't say a word.
"How do you feel," I asked my brother who smiled at his son.
"Fantastic," He responded.
"Excuse me, " Pauline said quietly, leaving the room. My gaze followed her out and my brother waved his hand in front of me, snapping me out of my daze.
"You fucked her," He states. I only groaned and fell on the couch, telling him everything that happened up to the way I couldn't get her out of my mind.
"I can't stop thinking about her since we fucked," I murmured.
"Then be with her and stop pining over an engaged woman," He said. I wasn't ready to give myself away to another woman, I still loved Ansley and that is why I didn't commit to anyone since we ended things.
'Ansley,' my Lycan whispered, he loved her despite our different races. A witch and a Lycan. I shook my head and went outside.
Night came and I was lying in bed, however, sleep didn't come easy to me, so dressing up, I went to the club with Garret.
"We are making you forget about that chick you fucked," he said, winking at a few ladies who rushed to where we were but I just couldn't get Pauline off my mind. I stood up, and my eyes roamed around the VIP room, hoping and wishing to catch a glimpse of her but I didn't. An hour had passed by and I smiled when I saw her. I could only see her bareback from here and her long curly locs fell on her skin.
