There he was, Mr. Forbidden. He was leaning at the bar counter, dressed in his favorite shade of dark in Black boots, navy blue jeans, bottle green T-shirt and black jacket. His black hair was always combed to perfection with not a strand out of its place trimmed just above his neck in a military cut.
Ana's mouth hung open in awe looking at the gorgeous Apollo. Sweet heavens! If there wasn't a chair comforting her ass, her legs would have given up. Mr Forbidden was mouth watering.
Her heart was about to leap out of its ribcage for the goosebumps caused by his presence only to be in the same place she was in. All his peers were laughing and swigging beers but he looked distracted.
A scantily dressed blond was clinging onto his bicep, yet he seemed to barely notice her presence. Jacob… his name rolled out of her mouth with intimacy and Ana shook her head going chivalrous.
The man she met yesterday, who was sitting beside her was friendly, caring and romantic. He was everything that a woman would admire and wish to settle down. But she was falling for the man who was in front of her. The mysterious kind of a guy, who was hot and sexy sending electric waves through her veins having the mere sight of him. He was intimidating and hinted at signs of warning - be away from me. Yet Ana could not stop falling for him.
She hated herself to say she was Eve, who wanted to taste the forbidden fruit. Oh God, help me get rid of this insane lust. Why do I think of him like a stupid teenager?
"Anastasia?" Henry's voice pulled her out of the inappropriate ogling at the machismo. She blinked at him, unable to speak yet. Her mouth felt dry and wetness pooled between her legs.
"You know him?" Henry asked softly, eying her changing features curiously.
"Know who?" Ana tried to play dumb and Henry looked at her more thoughtful. "The guy you were gawking at."
Busted. Ana reduced her eyes to the floor and tucked a loose strand behind her ear. "Nothing, I felt the guy was familiar.”
He glanced over to where Jacob casually leaned to the bar counter, extricating sexiness and invoking raw carnal desire in her. Henry's nerves went tensed while he drummed his fingers on the table. What's her problem?
"You look uncomfortable. Would you like to go?" He asked, judging by her features. This time Ana agreed without hesitation. Because she was not only uncomfortable but wet and needy. She was impatient to get home to handle herself with fantasies filled with Eros looming over her, kissing, touching, tasting and making love to her.
Henry rose from his seat and held out his hand. She placed hers in his and walked rather hastily towards the exit. Ana ducked her head down praying Jacob wouldn’t notice her but sadly…..
"Bella?" The stern, unmistakable voice called from behind. She winced at being caught and turned to see the walking temptation of a man none other than the mighty Jacob Taylor studying her.
"How are you Bella?" His tone was warm, but his expression was not so much. Again she wondered, how did he do that dual role.
"We were just leaving," she rushed out giving out that childish and forced smile. "And by the way, this is Henry." She gestured to her friendly date.
Jacob casually glanced at Henry, and looked up at him again. His eyes widened momentarily, his mouth slightly hanged, and if she wasn’t mistaken, he was appalled, also slightly pissed-off in shock.
Jacob caught himself and resumed his previous stance, only now the warmth had vanished. He nodded at Henry, his stark black eyes going strict as if like an arrow right into the man in front. "Henry."
Henry reciprocated, his eyes were everywhere except on Jacob. "Jacob Taylor." Jacob extended his hand. Guessing by their expressions Ana suspected both of them already knew each other.
The scantily dressed blond was back by Jacob's side and Ana bit the inside of her cheek to control a curse word that was forcing it to come out of her in irritation.
Jealousy? Why does she even feel that? It is not like they were dating or they were even something. On the top he openly made it clear to her, he only wants to be friends then why can't she control her stupid emotions?
The blonde rested her chin on his shoulder, but he jerked back his shoulder and shot her a cold stare. "Hey, don't you see me talking here?" She bit her plush, pink lips and let her hand slide leisurely down his arm, before letting out a dramatic sigh and strolling back to the rest of the basketball group.
“We're heading out now. I will see you around sometime." Ana said and attempted to rush out before the man could make her insane and muddled up with his sexy combustion.
"Are you sure you are going to call me?" He asked not being sure and Ana smiled in some way satiated. At least he is interested in talking to her.
"Yeah. I will call you." She acknowledged. But he wasn't looking at her. He was glowing death rays at Henry whose eyes continued to dart everywhere in the room, but never at him.
She tugged at Henry's rigid arm, and he looked down at her with a nervous smile. They were out of that building walking in silence to the parking lot each one busy with their own thoughts about the man they just met
Ana's silence was a consequence of her unexplainable carnal feelings towards the mysterious man who only wants to be her friend and Henry's numbness was still a puzzle to be untied.
There was definitely something going on between him and Jacob. But Ana was much too hot and bothered to attempt asking questions. She just wanted to reach her room to go under a warm shower and satisfy her body urges.
"So, you know Jacob?" Henry asked after they had entered his car. His tone was soft, holding no sarcasm and no ridicule.
"He looked familiar when I saw him but I could not recollect from where." Ana openly lied to Henry when the actual truth was that the virile Venus was constantly disturbing her in her sleeping and waking states.
"Can you recall, from where you knew him?" Henry asked her, turning his eyes to her.
Ana detects an unpredictable worry and also angst if she was not wrong about understanding him. Why was he anxious about Jacob? What is their past?
"I met Jacob in a club. Seen him there a few times. We spoke once and exchanged phone numbers. That is all." Ana confessed which was partly true if viewed from one side of the conversation but the reality was that the billionaire was searching for his lost love for the past many years like a werewolf waiting for his mate.
"Okay." Henry's body visibly relaxed quickly maneuvering the car out of the restaurant which made Ana suspicious. She smartly diverted the question to him to dig out reasons behind his dubious behavior.
“And how do you know Jacob?" He shifted rather uneasily in his seat. "He is just a business colleague. I had been an architect for a few of his projects in the past."
It was a white lie. Ana could really feel it. There was more to be added to the subject. Probably they were business rivals which Henry did not want to confess.
Nevertheless Ana decided to cease her investigation. She didn't care about the history of Jacob and Henry. But she was certain of one thing: She wanted Jacob in a way she has never needed a man before. Her body sizzled at the thought of him on her, in her and beside her in several ways she could not imagine any man earlier. Heat crept at her nether regions just at the thought of him with her. The man had so much power on her mind. He did not disclose anything about him, he screamed mystery and danger yet she was falling for him. It is like tasting the forbidden fruit in spite of knowing it will mark her disaster.
