Flora held her breath, intending to take the chance to sneak into the room without disturbing her son, ignoring his detailed questions. As if telepathically, as soon as she moved her feet, the boy frowned.
"Where are you going? I just heard you say SEI Corporation recruited you. That corporation has almost taken over the movie, television, tourism, and advertising markets...." He looked her up and down, and then bottom to top: "Why would they hire you?"
Flora frowned again, unable to control her emotions, but then pinch her son's ear: "Why don't you trust me at all? I'm your mother! Six years ago, you came out of my belly, and for six years, you've been nagging me."
Her son had never overpowered before his mother, struggling desperately, wanting to escape her evil hands. She pretended to be angry, pinched her son's ear a little, and went downstairs. How could she hurt her child?
At that moment, her mother, the grandmother of the two children, heard the noise downstairs and came down. When the boy saw his rescue, he immediately looked pitiful, pouting at his grandmother and shouting, "Grandma, your daughter bullies me... scold your daughter."
The child's voice was pure and immature, and the accusation was made again, causing the two adults to laugh. Faced with her mother's teasing eyes, Flora blushed, hurriedly holding her hands to the two children, laughing: "I took you out to play."
The little girl didn't understand what was going on and her brown eyes blankly at everyone in the house. She didn't understand why her mother had just grabbed her brother's ear and taken the two of them out to play. But she still needed to eat the cake.
The protest was no longer in time because the baby's mother hugged both brothers and went straight out. The two children could only look back and wave their tiny hand's goodbye to their grandmother.
"Mom, I want some cake!" The little girl still remembered the cake she hadn't had a chance to eat. As soon as she arrived at the park entrance, she hugged her mother's legs and acted cute.
Flora looked at the long line of people in front of her, looking at her daughter's pitiful hope again, feeling incredibly awkward: "But Mom is waiting in line to buy tickets... Let's do this, Charlie. Go get them for me."
The boy glanced at his mother's smiling face, not showing any attitude. Her two children were named Charlie and Paul. Either way, her son was a responsible brother, grumbling a few words and then taking his sister's hand to buy snacks. From the gate of the amusement park, they went to the bakery and crossed the street.
After buying the cake, the boy a hand to hold his sister's hand, but when he crossed the street, he forgot to pay attention to the car and stepped onto the road just as a vehicle rushed by.
"Kittttt!"
The sound of the car's brakes filled the air, closely followed by the sound of tires rubbing against the road surface.
The driver opened the car door and rushed over to the two children, hugging them and moving them to the sidewalk.
"Why are you walking alone on the street? Where are your parents? Do look at anything on the street. It's dangerous... Are you okay?"
The emotionless boy looked at the driver in the face.
"I'm sorry I scared you," the boy said, although he was scared himself. He looked at his sister, still holding the cake in her heart.
"We're fine, thank you," the girl said.
The two children were okay. The driver breathed a sigh of relief and sat back in the driver's seat.
He felt that the two children were very familiar until he got in the car. Looking at the rearview mirror, he said:
"Mr. Matthew, that boy is so much like you!"
Indeed, the boy was like a miniature version of the person in the back of the car, showing an emotionless face same.
Matthew Charles showed no reaction, and the girl sitting next to him burst into laughter, which was a joke.
"That's right, Matthew. I think that boy is like your miniature. Lovely. If I hadn't known who you are, I would have suspected my fiancé had a child outside our relationship."
Her words were not answered because the man beside her was looking out the window, frowning.
He saw the girl with the other two children, and compared to the boy just now, the other girl made him feel much more familiar.
They met somewhere, but he can't remember. This makes him angry.
The girl beside him grabs his arm again and pulls his mind back.
"What are you looking at? Are you not a fan of people with sons and daughters? We'll get married soon, and we'll have our children."
Matthew Charles shakes his head and tells the driver to drive.
The brief encounter left no impression on him.
At that time, he also didn't expect fate to quietly tie the two together, connected by a meeting not long after.
Although he doesn't recognize Flora, neither does she.
The day passed by very quickly with merry laughter in the house.
The following day, at seven in the morning, Flora was ready to leave the house.
As soon as she got to the door, she saw her son's strange eyes.
"What kind of dress are you wearing for the interview? It's like the old ladies in a TV show."
Flora had no choice, the person was interviewing with was the general manager's fiancée. If she was not dressed appropriately, she might not get the job.
"The young boy is still very innocent," she said as she rubbed his head, smiling as if she had planned it.
"Do you know about something called company culture when you start working?" Flora asked, smiling brightly and showing off her white teeth.
Her son had a black expression on his face: "I'm still young and don't know, because I haven't started working yet."
Why did she hear her son's voice go slightly sulky? The mother suddenly felt happy to "win" her son over.
She didn't think much of it, but her son was a six-year-old who, but knew better than most six-year-olds. Little Charlie looked at his mother again, pouting: "Is it part of your company culture to dress up like an old woman?"
Flora ruffled her son's hair, put on her shoes, and said, "Of course not. This is just my way of showing that I have a high EQ." She massaged her son's head and added: "You don't understand. Even if you say you don't understand because you're a child, you're indeed a child. But the most annoying thing is when adults don't solve a problem thoroughly just because you're a child, like your mother here."
This further strengthened belief that was more like his father, whom he had never met, than his mother. The sound of Flora's footsteps echoed behind her as she left the house. Her daughter rushed out to hug her mother's legs and said in a cute voice: "Good luck, Mom."
With a laugh, Flora bent over to kiss her daughter's cheek before saying: "Thank you, goodbye."
The little girl hugged her mother and kissed her cheek before Flora left the house.
Her son looked down on his mother and sister again. She wondered from whom he learned this grumpy attitude. Flora burst into laughter, dragged her son into a tight embrace, and kissed his cheeks before letting go. Suddenly, she let go of his hand, and her son made a disgusted face. "It's all my saliva," he said, not even bothering to wipe it off his cheeks.
Flora burst into laughter, opened the door, turned around, and blew her son a kiss. The little boy frowned and called for his sister: "Paul, can you shut the door for me?" Flora left the house in high spirits, knowing that her son was only showing his unpleasant side, but she still loved him very much.
She deliberately dressed in a simple style for the interview, wearing big glasses and a pair of comfortable shoes that looked like her mother's. From top to bottom, she didn't look like the image of an executive assistant, not meeting the recruitment standards of the SEI Corporation.
But her interviewer is the general manager's fiancée, anyone always thinks no girl wants a pretty secretary around her future husband.
"Cheer up!" Flora said to herself, as she looked at the tall building in front of her. She took a deep breath, cheered herself up, and then pushed the door open.
She asked the receptionist for the elevator location, bowed her head, and hurried forward. However, she didn't expect to crash into a man's sturdy chest.
"Do you often use this trick to talk to men? There's no creativity at all," a familiar low voice sounded from the top of her head.
She hurriedly took a step back, and foolishly realized that the side of his face was familiar, combined with the voice just now...
"You look familiar. Haven't we met before?" she asked.
The man did not change his face, but in some strange way, she could still recognize him looking at her with a mocking look.
"That's such an old trick!" He didn't answer her question, accompanied by a contemptuous gesture.
Taking a step or two, she heard a low voice behind her again: "Next time, remember to use a new trick."
She tore her head open, unable to remember where she had met this man.
Suddenly, an image came to mind that her son had used an expressionless face in the morning, and their intonation was all satirical so the same. That man looked so much like her son Charlie, she felt so familiar.
