The Betrayed Wolf of Shadowfen

Chapter 19

Ch. 19 / 30 Sep 19, 2025

The air was thick with fury, charged with an energy that only violence could fuel.

Sierra stood at the edge of the clearing, her body tense, her heart hammering in her chest. Everything had been building toward this moment—everything that had led her here, between Kellan, Rowan, and herself. The tension was unbearable, as if the world was holding its breath, waiting for the eruption to happen. And now, here it was.

Kellan was across from them, eyes narrowed in pure rage, his body coiled and ready for action. His hands were clenched into fists at his sides, his muscles taut as though every part of him was preparing for battle. His gaze locked on Rowan, full of hate, full of anger.

“You think you can just take her from me?” Kellan spat, his voice a venomous hiss that cut through the silence like a blade. “You’re not going to win her over with your lies, Shadowfen. She’s mine.”

Rowan didn’t flinch. He didn’t hesitate. He stepped forward slowly, his posture calm but filled with an undeniable intensity. His eyes never left Kellan, and in that moment, it felt like the world had narrowed down to just the two of them.

“No, Kellan,” Rowan said quietly, his voice cold and steady. “She was never yours.”

Without another word, Kellan lunged. It was a blur of motion, a flash of muscle and fury, and for a split second, Sierra’s heart stopped. She couldn’t believe it—couldn’t believe that this was happening right in front of her. But there was no stopping it now. The fight was on.

Rowan moved with the same speed and precision, his body reacting instinctively to the attack. He didn’t flinch or back away—he met Kellan head-on, their bodies colliding with a sickening crack of force. The sounds of fists against flesh, bone against bone, filled the air, as the two men grappled on the ground. It was wild, brutal, raw. The blood that spilled onto the stone beneath them made the world feel even darker, even more unforgiving.

Sierra’s breath hitched as she watched them, her heart a mess of emotions she couldn’t name. There was anger, yes, but also fear. Fear for Rowan. Fear for what this would mean—for what it had already meant. The future she had always known was slipping further away with each punch, each strike. And yet, even in the chaos of it all, there was something else rising within her. A burning need to stop it. To make it stop.

The sound of their fight echoed through the clearing, the violence too raw, too intense for her to stand by and watch. She stepped forward, her legs trembling with the effort, but her heart steady. She couldn’t watch them destroy each other. She couldn’t let Kellan keep fighting for a future that wasn’t his to claim.

“Stop!” she shouted, her voice raw and powerful, cutting through the air like a demand. “Stop!”

But neither man heard her. They were locked in the fury of the moment, too consumed by their hatred, too wrapped up in their conflict.

Sierra’s heart raced as the fight continued to unfold in front of her. She couldn’t just stand here and watch. She couldn’t let this go on.

With a surge of strength, Sierra stepped forward again, her voice louder this time. “Enough!”

Rowan and Kellan froze, their bodies still in mid-fight, but something in her voice—something deep inside them—made them stop. The blood that stained the stone beneath them seemed to echo the weight of the moment, but the violence had ceased. For a moment, there was nothing but the sound of Sierra’s breath, harsh and uneven, her heart still racing in her chest.

“You never had me,” Sierra said, her voice trembling but full of power. Her eyes locked onto Kellan, and the words hit him like a slap across the face. “You just had permission.”
