Lucien clapped his hands, starting slow as the sound echoed in the room before he picked up the speed and laughed menacingly. He slammed his fist in the air and blew into his hands in celebration.
"I have played this in my mind for months, going over what it would be like to have you all here and to tell you the things I knew but now that it is happening, holy shit, there is not a feeling like it." He licked his lips and wiped the sweat from his face.
He used his speed and kneeled next to Lola in a second. She fell back and tried to widen the distance between them by crawling backward but Lucien circled his fingers around her ankle and pulled her in with a rough grip.
He gestured with his hand towards Jax and said through a deep smirk, "How I have been waiting for this. Be honest now, which do you prefer- getting fucked by a werewolf-" he grabbed her chin and forced her head back, "-or a vampire?" He asked.
Jax's mouth fell open and his eyes glistened as though all the pain came rushing back.
"You know I still remember what if let like to fuck that tight little pussy of yours. What it felt like to have those lips," he said and pulled on her bottom lip, "wrapped around my dick and watch that your bob up and down. "It is your face I see every time I fuck someone senseless, it's you I see writhing underneath me, your moans and screams that I hear fill the room. It's making me hard just thinking about it. Don't be shy," Lucien mused, "tell me the truth. Or maybe you need reminding before you can make a fair assessment." He smirked, his tongue slid over his teeth and he undressed her with his gaze.
"Do you want to know why I let you run all those years ago? Why I didn't just tie you to the bed and keep you there," He asked.
When Lola didn't answer he took it as a cue to continue.
"Because your blood wasn't fully evolved. Your blood had to mature which it did when you turned twenty-one. There is no use in having a Doe if they can die from blood loss, we have learned from history you see. The day you turned twenty-one, your blood reached full maturity and you began to heal yourself. You see, I never lost track of you, love, you never hid from me- I've always been watching you from afar and inserted my men when it was time to collect what was mine."
Lola pulled away from his chest but he grabbed her face roughly in his hand and pulled her in close.
His grip hardened and Lola whimpered from the burning pain and the fear of watching him get closer.
"How do your men walk in the sun?" Jax barked from behind them. Lucien leaned back and smiled. By pressing his nail like the blade of a knife into her skin he slit open a wound on Lola's shoulder.
"This right here is liquid magic. They say that whoever possesses a Doe, may possess the power of the world. Lola's blood makes it so vampires can walk in daylight. As long as they have it in their system and tops up whenever they run low it will never be an issue. When we tapped her veins five years ago we had enough for a few of my men to keep good tabs on her through the different towns she went. Elwina was kind enough to guide her to Wild Cliff so we would be close to the home of her ancestors, making Elwina's magic that much stronger. Lola's blood was running out, our supply wasn't endless and the last of it was injected into one of my men currently residing in Wild Cliff. We knew our source wouldn't be away from us for much longer and taking you, Alpha Jax, guaranteed her arrival sooner rather than later,"
"Wait what?" Lola gasped.
"Did I forget to tell you?" He jerked his hand away and Lola's head was flung back.
He dialed a number on his phone and waited for an answer. Lucien turned the phone around, he had someone on FaceTime, and on the screen, sleeping soundly in her bed was Melissa. The phone was turned around to reveal the caller and Ed waved his hand with a smile that stretched on his face.
"How is our leverage doing?" Lucien asked. An amused smile and glimmering gaze spread on his face when he saw Lola's eyes turn in fear.
"She's doing just fine. As happy as a girl can be, I don't mind staying longer, boss. I'm having fun with this one." He bit down on his lip and eyed Melissa on the bed.
"Good, we'll stay in touch," Lucien said hoarsely and hung up.
"No! Tell him to leave her the fuck alone or I swear to god-" Lola's head snapped to the side and she yelped from the sting of the slap. She covered her cheek when it began to throb and looked up. Lucien scanned her face, he put the phone away and stood up.
Lola opened her mouth wide and heard her jaw click. She massaged her cheek and scoffed, shaking her head as she pulled her lips back in a dark grin.
"You were always a smart man, Lucien. Having been seventeen for as long as you have I would've been surprised if you weren't. But you always had one flaw, I noticed it back then as well and I see it in you still."
Lucien turned when Lola piqued his interest.
"You continue to be under the impression that I will ever wait to be saved, or that I will surrender into a life of torture to save the people I love. You have always worked under the assumption that I give a damn whether I live or die...which I don't,"
He smirked and stepped closer when she stood up.
Lola heaved a sigh, she shrugged a careless shoulder and smiled.
"But there are those who do."
Ash rose behind them as though he had been touched by nothing heavier than a feather. He stood unbothered and grabbed the knife from the vampire, slicing his throat and plunging it into another. He knew that breaking the chair wouldn't remove the spell. The vampires came charging at him but he set his sights on Elwina and was quick over the floor to where she stood. He grabbed on either side of her head and twisted, breaking her neck and undoing the spell that kept Jax locked down.
Jax rose and slammed the chair into the floor breaking it into pieces that he then used as stakes to kill the vampires that came charging at them.
Lucien turned, fuming and grinding his teeth.
"You little bitch." He seethed.
"I took your advice, I found a better family. Not smarter or any less toxic but better," she said.
"You won't get away with this. The second that people hear about you, they will come from all over the world to cash in on your blood." He spat.
"Maybe, but then I guess we'll have to fuck those people over too."
Lucien looked around at the bloodbath that occurred. The blood of his men painted the white tile floor and Ash and Jax stood covered in the guts of the vampires they slayed.
"You two," he seethed, "you're supposed to hate each other. He tried to take your girl!"
"So did you," Jax growled.
"He used magic to take your memories of her, plotting with your ex-girlfriend and your mother to take her from you!"
Jax walked with calculated steps. His eyes were yellow and his wolf was front and center, present fully for the first time in a long time.
"He did, but he did it because he loves her, he will die to protect her. You wanted her for power and personal gain, you never gave a shit about her heart. He did. Therefore, he gets to live and you do not." Jax raised his hands and extended his canines, he growled as he went for the kill but Lucien was gone in the blink of an eye his men had already abandoned the villa. It wasn't a surprise, Lucien was older than anyone knew. All they knew was that he had survived many attempts on his life and he always had a plan b and c.
"They won't get far," Jax said. They listened to hear if any doors slammed shut but the vampires must've built underground tunnels to move around in while the sun was out.
Lola looked at the guys. Jax stepped forward and cupped her face, he pulled her in and claimed her lips in a heated kiss that was long overdue.
"Maybe we just let him go, he won't try for me anytime soon," Lola said.
Jax shook his head and looked with adoration into her eyes.
"No, he has to die. As does anyone who finds out about you. We can't risk word spreading and I will not take any chances with your life."
Ash looked around at the piles of bodies they'd left behind and waited until Jax pulled away.
"I'll be in the car," Jax said, knowing that Lola and Ash had their things to hatch out.
He left the villa and opened the gates.
"Now what?" Lola asked.
"Now we go home." He said.
"Where is home?" She asked.
"Yours is with Jax and mine is at my pack, being an Alpha, a leader to my people." He grabbed Lola's hands. "If I could take it back...I wouldn't," he said honestly and watched her face contort in a grimace. "I needed to know that there was no reality where you would choose me over him. Or else I would have lived with that question for the rest of my life. All I wanted was to know what it was like to be loved by you, but I guess I already knew,"
Lola smiled.
"It's just a different type of love," she said.
Ash nodded his head and pressed a kiss to her forehead.
"I am really, truly sorry for the part I played in this," he whispered. "I understand that I've lost your trust but I will work for the rest of my life to win it back,"
Lola tilted her head to the side. Her heart was torn in two and she was conflicted as to what she should do.
"You have, but I think we can rebuild it this once... and never again. My forgiveness only reaches so far," she warned. Ash smiled and it reached his eyes as hope returned and he was determined to fix what he had wronged. The relief was not long-lasting, however, as a boiling rage worked its way up his body and consumed his soul along with his wolf.
They walked out of the villa just as ten cars drove up. They were the Alpha warriors, there to clean up the mess and to trace the vampires.
There were no better hunters than Alpha Jax's army, they would sniff out Lucien and the rest of his clan and take them out before they became more of a threat.
