Seducing My Father's Best Friend

Chapter 32

Ch. 32 / 107 Feb 05, 2025

My eyes darted to Mr. Clinton as I whispered a silent plea for another help, but he ignored me.

I guess I'm alone in this one.

I smiled awkwardly, swaying my legs. "Well, um, I have written up to a hundred words yet, so it's not enough to make a chapter."

"But I saw a lot of words written in there..." she said incredulously, a slight frown etching her face.

"No, it's just the outline..." I replied, slowly stepping backwards to escape any more questions. But the expression on her face showed she was ready to hurl more at me...

"Then I'd like to read the outline..." she insisted, attempting to snatch the book from me.

I flinched, clutching the book to my chest. "Miss Ross, I don't think... it's... a... good idea..." I drawled, stealing glances at Mr. Clinton. But to my surprise, he was going back upstairs.

My face contorted while I watched him leave me alone to continue the explanation he started...

My gaze returned to Miss Ross, her eyes widening with a sudden realization as she let out a loud "Aha... I get it, you're trying to hide the smut scene written in there..."

My jaw dropped, my lips parted in agape astonishment as I turned speechless...

So among everything in this world, is this what she could think of?

Well, what's written in there will certainly blow her mind. The effect it will bring is more than a smut scene...

I laughed awkwardly, stroking the back of my head. "Miss Ross, there's no smut scene, but it's kind of related..." I responded, inwardly thinking of a way to escape this tension...

This woman is such a pest!

"Okay, fine, when you're done, I'll make sure to read it..." she said, sitting back on the sofa and putting on her glasses.

I let out a sigh of relief and made a U-turn, but then I caught sight of Erin from upstairs, behind the passage, peeping...

Our eyes locked; this time she didn't smile like she used to. Instead, a scowl settled on her face. This was actually the first time I had seen her frown.

My face scrunched up instantly, realizing my diary getting to the living room wasn't just another accident....

Why was it that just after I left my room, my diary went missing?

This wasn't a coincidence. She must be the one behind it.

But why?

I climbed upstairs, ready for a confrontation, but as I drew nearer, she shifted backwards slowly, lengthening the distance between us.

It seemed as if she was toying with me.

"Erin..." I called, hastening to meet her.

"Yes..." she halted, crossing her arms while fluttering her eyelashes. "What is it..."

I stared at her for quite some time, wondering how on earth a person could have different shades of weirdness. She was clearly acting strange.

"Why did you take my diary from my room?" I asked, my voice stern, matching my steady gaze.

She averted her eyes away, her lips pursed. "I didn't take it..."

I felt exasperated by her denial; it was obvious from her behavior that she took it on purpose. For what reasons, I do not know...

"You took it; stop lying," I spat, my brow twitching...

I am usually jovial with people, but I hated to be messed with, especially if it is something to do with my privacy.

She kept me silent, returning her gaze to me with no ounce of remorse...

I began wondering if this was the same Erin from a few minutes ago-the one I used to know....

It felt as if she was portraying different personalities, switching between them seamlessly.

I huffed, irked by her silence. "You must have read it; that's why you brought it downstairs so Miss..."

"What are you talking about?" she cut me off, pretending to be oblivious to the fact that her body language stated otherwise. "I have no idea what you're saying..."

That was my final straw; this girl is crazy...

She is a freak, and I am not ready to continue a conversation with a weirdo.

I turned around to make my way to my room. I didn't want to remain in her presence as it got me all riled up..

I took a step, but her question caught me off guard...

"Are you in love with Mr. Clinton?"

I turned back to face her, my brow knitting in confusion.

Didn't she say she knew nothing of what I said?

I couldn't help but ask, "Erin, did you hit your head?"

Erin's expression changed, her eyes glinting with a mischievous spark. "Maybe I did, maybe I didn't. But you're definitely hiding something."

I shook my head, trying to clear the confusion. "Erin, what's going on with you? You're acting so strange."

She shrugged, her smile returning, but with a hint of menace. "Maybe I'm just tired of being ignored."

I took a step back, feeling uneasy. "Erin, I don't know what you're talking about."

She laughed, a cold, mirthless sound. "Oh, come on. You know exactly what I'm talking about. Mr. Clinton, Miss Ross, your precious diary... it's all connected."

I frowned, trying to piece together her cryptic words. "What do you mean?"

Erin's eyes seemed to bore into my soul. "You'll find out soon enough. But for now, let's just say... I have your secrets."

With that, she turned and disappeared into her room, leaving me feeling bewildered and more than a little concerned. What was Erin up to? And what was she going to do with my secret?

I stood there, frozen, trying to process Erin's enigmatic words. What secrets could she possibly have apart from my feelings for Mr. Clinton? And why was she acting so strangely?

As I turned to leave, I noticed a piece of paper on the floor. I picked it up, and my heart skipped a beat. It was a page from my diary, the one I thought was safely hidden away.

My eyes scanned the page, and my face grew hot with embarrassment. It was the entry about Mr. Clinton, the one I thought was private.

I felt a chill run down my spine. This was certainly her doing, but why was she doing this?

I rushed to my room, my mind racing with questions. I locked the door and leaned against it, trying to calm down.

But as I looked around my room, I realized that nothing was safe. Erin could have copied anything, read anything.

I felt exposed, vulnerable. And I knew I had to confront Erin again once and for all.

But how would I continue speaking to a freak...

Her strange behavior was putting me off...

I opened a small box and safely locked my diary in it.

I decided to stop updating it since I am now aware someone was secretly spying on my privacy.
