It’s been a couple of weeks since Seleste and I first sparred against each other. Now all the warriors stop to see us spar together. I have been planning a special night for Seleste and me with my mom. I want to make this a night she will remember for the rest of our lives. I asked my mom to set up a dinner, movie, and romantic night in my special area at the edge of our territory. There is this valley in the middle of the forest with a stream running through it. There are dense woods all around the area, but right in the middle is the perfect place to view the moon at night. The stream running through the area is crystal clear and cleaner than any other water source in the country. There is a legend that says the goddess protects the stream. It is said that the water has healing properties. To our pack, this area is sacred. It is the perfect place for Seleste to rebuild our bond and restart our matehood officially. I plan for us to renew our commitment to each other.
I got up extra early this morning so I could meet my mom in the kitchen before Seleste or the others came down.
“Good morning mom,”
I walk into the kitchen and kiss my mom on the cheek. I am so glad all the distance between us is gone. I may be a big bad alpha, but I am still a momma’s boy. It really hurt when she was mad at me and thought the worst of me. I thought she would believe in me if no one else did. I kind of see her point. I am an only child. My mom always wanted a daughter but resigned herself to having a daughter-in-law. That dream died with my first mate but was restored with Seleste. My mom instantly loved Seleste at first sight. It felt like I was taking her dream from her, along with the hope of grandchildren. My mother never liked the idea of me picking a chosen mate. She always encouraged me to wait. It’s like she knew the goddess would give me a second chance mate. I don’t know how she knew, but my mom never lost hope.
“Hi, handsome face. The fact that you are up before the food is done means you are too excited about tonight to sleep.” My mom says.
“You know it, and I wanted to check in with you on how everything is going. Were you able to get the dome for us to sleep in tonight?”
“Yes dear, we got your camping bubble set up for you. I had it frosted for extra privacy. It is beautiful. Seleste is going to love it. I have the area set up as a tropical retreat. We have the outdoor dining set up with a table for two. After dinner, you will move over to the outside movie theater, complete with reclining moving theater chairs, well one oversize loveseat, heated with overside pillows and blankets. We loaded the projector with all of Seleste’s favorite movies and before you say anything, it’s her night so suck it up,” my mom says.
She knows her son. But mom is right, this night is all about Seleste and I get the pleasure of being in her company and allowing her to relax in the middle of preparing for a major war. She deserves this night. After this war is over, we will go away for a month-long vacation.
“Thanks, mom, this all sounds wonderful. Thank you for taking my ideas and making them all come true. I could not have done this without you.”
“This was my pleasure, baby. I’m just so happy that things are going so well with you and Seleste. I will be glad when this war is over so you and Seleste can work on me some grandbabies.”
“Mom!”
“Don’t mom me. None of us is getting any younger, so get busy. Well, after this nasty business with the war, I mean.”
“Ok mom, after the war, Seleste and I will talk about it,” I say and smile.
“After tonight, there will be a lot less talking between the two of you.”
“Mom.”
“What? I have been mated for more years than you have been around, but I still remember what it’s like to be newly mated. I still get butterflies when your father walks in the room.”
“Mom, please stop. I don’t even want to think about you and dad.”
“Oh, don’t hate son. I can’t help that I keep your mom with a smile on her face.” My dad says, walking into the room. “I can give you a few pointers if you need them.”
“Ugh. No dad, I think I am good. Can we please talk about something else?” I ask, getting a laugh from my parents.
It’s times like this that I wished I had siblings to take some of this embarrassment. My Beta walks in and to say I am glad that there is someone else in the room is an understatement.
“From the redness of your face, I guess your dad is bragging about how happy your mom is again.” My beta says.
“Please don’t open that door again. The last thing I want to be thinking about today is my parents’ love life.”
“My poor alpha has performance anxiety. Maybe your dad can give you some pointers.”
“Seriously Mason. I can’t believe you right now. Have your fun now, but remember, I reserve the right to tease you just as hard when you get your mate and at the rate of those around my mate finding mates, your day is coming soon.”
I can’t help but laugh at his facial expression after thinking about what I said. We all heard about how all of her warriors found mates while traveling with Seleste. There are a few female warriors who will come to join the team sometime this week. I believe one of them will be my beta’s mate. I can’t wait to see that unfold. No one deserves it more than he does. He has been waiting for years to meet his mate. Our pack needs a beta female and if she is a warrior trained by Seleste, that would be the icing on the cake.
Breakfast gets started in full now. All the warriors and their mates are here and my mate walks into the kitchen looking as beautiful as always. Time to start the second part of our day. Seleste knows that I have things planned for today, but I kept most of it a secret so that I could surprise her.
“Good morning, beautiful. You look rested.” I say with a smile since she slept nestled in my arms all night.
“Good morning, baby. I slept well last night. All snuggled and wrapped in love.” Seleste says.
‘Ok, enough with the cuteness.” My Beta says.
“Remember, Mason, your time is coming soon,” I say.
“Sooner than you think,” Seleste says with a smirk.
That just confirmed what I was thinking. One of the warriors coming will be our Beta female. I can’t help but smile as Mason sits there looking awe-struck.
I pull out a chair for Seleste and go fix her a plate with all her breakfast favorites. My baby loves herself some bacon and my mom made a batch just for her. She likes her bacon peppery and sweet. I placed the plate in front of her and she beams when she sees her bacon.
“Thank you, Momma Daisy, for making my favorite bacon this morning.”
“Anything for you, sweetheart.” My mom says.
I love that they are so close already. I know we will be a happy family for years to come.
Talia and the twins finally walk in and I’m excited that Seleste’s special day can finally begin.
“Baby, you know that I have been planning a special day for us. The first part of this day is you with Talia and the females spending a day of shopping and pampering. I know shopping is not your favorite thing, but I want you to get a special dress for tonight and then relax with a trip to the spa and do whatever you all do at the spa. I have already given Talia and Yvette my black card, so enjoy the day and I will see you back here in a few minutes. Before you ask, your warriors will also be with you, so security will be tight, and the mall and spa are within our territory.”
I could see her relax once she knew that her friends and female warriors would be able to enjoy themselves with her and not worry about security. Seleste is always thinking about others and especially her team. She would not have been able to enjoy herself if Talia, Yvette, and the others didn’t get to join in with her. I like that the mates of her top warriors are also trained warriors. Seleste told me that the goddess said that we are an unstoppable force. I can see that. We are surrounded by some of the top warriors in our kingdom, and we train with the best of the best. There is an old human saying; iron sharpens iron. We put that into practice.
Seleste and her entourage all prepare to leave. The males are taking an SUV and following them at a safe distance. I watch them all drive away, then go into the kitchen to go over the menu with the kitchen staff. We are doing seafood, starting out with Shrimp Cocktail. The next course will be a seafood soup and a salad with crab meat sprinkled on top. For the entrée, we will have the option of Red Snapper Livornese or Phyllo-wrapped Halibut with lemon scallion sauce with fresh steamed vegetables. For dessert, we will have a cheesecake surprise. The surprise is that it is made with a strawberry center. Seleste is going to absolutely love this.
After I finish meeting with the kitchen staff and going over the plan with them and my mom. I go to the office and do some actual alpha work, but I don’t plan to work for long. When Seleste comes back, I want to be ready. I take a moment and send her a message to let her know I am thinking of her.
“Baby stop making me think about you and how sexy you looked this morning. I’m trying to work.” I send it with a heart emoji.
“If it makes you feel better. I was thinking about you as well. Can’t wait to feel your arms around me.” She responds.
“Now I will never be able to get back to work. All I can focus on now is the feel of you in my arms, you under me, screaming my name in pleasure over and over again.”
“Talia told me to tell you to hose our phones down because they do not want to smell my arousal here.”
“Tell Talia I had to spend weeks with her and the twins. I am sure she is used to it, but I’ll leave you to enjoy your time with the girls. I’m counting the hours till I get to smell your arousal for myself. I can’t wait to taste you.” I respond with a kiss emoji.
It’s 4:30 and I am waiting for Seleste and the others to get back. The twins are waiting with me in the rec room. My mom made a special dinner for all the mated couples. The kitchen made seafood pasta for them. My mom had the private dining room decorated for the couples. The lights are turned low, and candles are lit around the room. When the females get back, they will get a little cocktail hour while the warriors all go get dressed. Seleste and I will join them for cocktails before being taken to our location. I arranged for a horse and carriage for us.
I see the SUVs pull up. It is taking everything in me not to run out there to Seleste. I see the twins are having the same struggle. I want to give the ladies the opportunity to enter. While the ladies are preparing to make their grand entrances, the warriors pull their SUV to the back so they can enter through the back door to get ready. My mom arranged for some of the pack shoppers to go get suits for the warriors while they were out. It is a good thing we have our own tailors who have a supply of suits in stock for the more muscular wolves. Most of us are not the average size. We are taller and broader with more defined muscles.
After a short wait, the ladies start to exit the vehicle. It is almost like watching a red-carpet moment. All the ladies are dressed to the nines. I saw Yvette, then Talia stepped out. Finally, Seleste stepped out, and I forgot to breathe. She is wearing our favorite color, and it looks absolutely stunning. I am just frozen in my spot, staring at my mate.
“I hope the fact that we leave you speechless is a good thing.”
“Oh baby, you look amazing. Your beauty is beyond comparison. I thank the goddess daily for you, but seeing you tonight makes me want to thank her and your parents for creating you.”
All Seleste can do is smile. I notice that the twins have the same look on their faces. The females are all lovely tonight.
“Ladies, you all look lovely tonight.”
“I’m surprised you noticed any of the rest of us,” Talia says.
“Well, I have no problem admitting that I get tunnel vision when my mate walks into any space, but yes, I noticed, and you ladies really do look lovely tonight. I know this is a sight that your mates will greatly appreciate when they come back down, and Talia, your mates are just as speechless as I was.”
“Why are you throwing us into your conversation?” Drew asked. “Our mate is always gorgeous.”
“Thank you, baby,” Talia says. “You all look handsome as well.”
We all walk into the private dining room for cocktails. I don’t want Seleste to take too much here, but I do want her to have this moment with her team.
“Don’t eat or drink much. There will be more where we are going.”
“and you are still not telling me where we are going?”
“Nope,” I say. “It's called a surprise.”
Seleste just smiles as we mingle with the mates while waiting on the warriors. Warrior Peace is the first to walk back into the room. Yvette and he greet each other as the others enter the room. All the warriors are struck by how lovely their mates look tonight. This is really the first time the warriors or their mates have gone all out for each other. I will have to make sure that we plan more date nights and other formal gatherings when the war is over. All of us being warriors forget how to enjoy dressing up and just enjoying our mates. I can see how just this simple act of dressing up has made a difference in all of our morale and reminds us of what we will be fighting for.
Seleste and I spend a little more time with our team, then we head out to the front of the pack house. I have the horse and carriage waiting for us as we exit the house. Just seeing the happy and excited expression on Seleste’s face let me know that this was a good call. This is the perfect time for a horse and carriage ride. The sun is going down, but it is still light enough to see everything. We have at least another hour of light. That works perfectly. Will dine partially by candlelight and then start the movie once the sun completely sets.
I help Seleste into the carriage and take my seat next to her as we begin our journey through the forest.
“Thank you, baby, for this. I have always wanted to ride in a carriage but never had the opportunity. I will always remember this moment.”
“I am so glad you are enjoying this.”
Seleste leans her head on my shoulder as we continue to ride. After 10 minutes of riding in silence, with Seleste looking around and taking in the view, she figures out where we are going.”
“OMG. You are taking me to your special spot. I’m so excited. I hope the feel of it is similar to the one in my old pack. Every time I go there, I feel recharged and connected to the goddess.”
“There is a belief that this area is moon blessed.”
“I can believe that. I think there is an area like that in all the original packs. Now that we know that all of our ancestors were warriors of the moon, it definitely makes sense that there would be blessed areas like that. The warriors of the moon were much closer to the goddess, and she had to have a spot to communicate with them. When I was younger, I used to go to the spot in my old pack with my grandmother, and the goddess used to talk to us there. It was in that spot that my grandmother told the goddess that she was ready to join my grandfather and the ancestors because I was ready. I learned that my grandmother only survived my grandfather’s death because she needed to train me and at that point, I was more trained than more of the warriors in our pack. I took over as pack trainer soon after that.”
“It had to be awesome being able to talk one on one with the goddess.”
“Most of it happened when I was too young to understand that something special was happening. I thought every wolf talked to the goddess like we did. It wasn’t until after my grandmother died that I understood. The goddess still met with me from time to time, but soon after I became a teenager, she told me she would not be able to meet with me again for a while. When she came to me after the incident with the she-wolf, she told me why she had to stay away. It all worked out in the end.”
“I’m so fortunate that the goddess is on our side. We should be there in about 2 minutes. Keep looking through the window. The view is awesome.”
As soon as I said that the dense woods opened up, and we were entering the clearing. The look on Seleste’s face was priceless.
“Jarvis, this is beautiful. I can’t believe you had time to set all of this up. I’ve always wanted to see what it was like to sleep in one of those domes. It will be like sleeping outside but being protected from the elements. Thank You, Jarvis.”
“This is just the start.”
I take Seleste by the hand and lead her over to the table where the omegas are waiting to serve us. Once Seleste and I are seated, the staff go into the dinner tent and bring out our first course.
“Shrimp cocktail. Yes! baby. How did you know this was one of my favorites?”
“I called you mom and dad. This meal tonight is all of your favorites, some of them with a little twist.”
Once we finished eating the shrimp cocktail, they brought our next course out. The soup and salad were as good as I thought they would be. It’s good to see Seleste really enjoying her food. We eat and talk about random things. We take time to just enjoy the moment. I move my chair closer to her so that I can touch her hands. I just want to be close to her. Since she didn’t move away, I can assume she feels the same way. There is a glow that comes from being happy. Onyx is purring at the thought of our mate having the happy glow.
We finally made it to the entrée. I will never forget the delight on Seleste’s face when the Omegas bring out the food. Since there are 2 main dishes and vegetables, I had them set the food out family-style. I put a little of both main dishes, rice pilaf and asparagus on her plate, then fixed my plate.
“Jarvis, this fish wrapped in phyllo is amazing. What type of fish is this?”
“It’s halibut.”
“This is one of my new favorite fish. Right up there next to this red snapper. I can eat this almost every day. This is so good.” Seleste says with a moan.
“You keep moaning like that and we want to make it through the next part of our date before I take you to bed.”
“Who said I wanted the next phase of the date? I might want to just jump you now.”
I almost choked on my food. In the little time that I have known Seleste, she has never been this open.
“Close your mouth baby. Something may fly in. I can admit that I want you as much as you want me. I think we have waited long enough. I love you Jarvis, and I know we are forever.”
“I love you Seleste, more than words can ever say.”
We finish our dinner and end with dessert. I watch as Seleste takes a bite of her mini cheesecake. She moans again when she bites into the strawberry center.
“I’m glad that you enjoyed our meal. I wanted you to have a night you wouldn’t forget anytime soon.”
I take her hand and walk her to our outdoor theater and sit on the reclining loveseat.
“I had planned for us to watch a movie tonight, but right now, I just want to hold you. To remind myself that you are mine and I get to keep you forever.”
“The perfect end to the night is me being in your arms. If you holding me, get me in your arms sooner, then I am all for that.”
“Seleste, as we end this portion of our date, just know that you are the very beat of my heart. Later tonight, after I make love to you until we fall into an exhausted sleep, your smile will be my last thought, my last wish, and all that I hope for. Holding you in my arms makes everything right in my world. I love you beyond the moon and the sun. You are more than the air that I breathe. You are my today, tomorrow, and forever. The best part of my soul is you. I will spend my life loving you, caring for you, and protecting you. From now until we return to the moon goddess, I will be by your side. I’ll be the wall between you and the world. I’ll be the one there for you. The one to love you back to life when you have given your all to the world. This is forever. You are my forever. I know we are already mates, but I want to belong to you in every way possible. Will you also be my wife?” I ask and pull out the ring my father gave my mother.
“Yes. Yes, Jarvis, I will marry you. I will love you forever. You are my forever. I will allow you to love me, care for me, and protect me. With you, I don’t have to be the protector. I don’t have to be strong. With you, I am just Seleste, your mate. Jarvis, you are the other half of my soul. I know we had a rocky start. I hate that I almost let the dark one tear us apart. Thank you for loving me enough to not give up on us. Thank you for believing in us when I couldn’t. You have been a light in my darkness, and I thank the goddess for blessing me with you. You are the one that I was meant to be with now and in the next life. The goddess told me that Onyx and Tamaska have always been mates, which means that we are fated in every life lived in the past and every life we live in the future. We truly are meant to be together today, tomorrow, and forever.”
Onyx is in my head, yelling for me to kiss her and drag her to bed. I would like to think I have a little more finesse than my wolf. I stand up and pull Seleste into my arms.
“Can I kiss you?”
“Baby, you don’t have to ask. I have been waiting to kiss you all night.”
She didn’t have to tell me twice. I slowly place my lips on hers and start a slow, sensual kiss. I pour all my love into this kiss and she returns it. What started out as a sweet kiss, turns hard and demanding. Seleste wraps her legs around me as I pick her up. I slowly walk us to our dome and our king-size bed. I wanted to give Seleste a tour of this room, but at this moment all I can think about is first walking so that we don’t fall and then getting us both out of our clothes as soon as possible.
“Baby, how much do you like this dress?”
“I Love it, so let me take it off for you.”
I place her on her feet, and she does a slow striptease for me. Now I am really fighting Onyx for control.
“I can smell you, baby,” Seleste says with a smile.
“I can smell you too, and it is the best smell I have ever smelled. I bet you are so wet for me right now. Come, let me see how wet you are.”
Seleste walks over to me and I immediately lock lips with her again. She wraps her arms around my neck. I lift her up and gently lay her down on the bed. Seleste looks so good, sleeping in my arms. I nod for a couple of hours but wake Seleste up a couple of times throughout the night. I can’t get enough of her. Onyx is happier than he has ever been. He’s a big bad alpha wolf purring like a cat for his mate.
