Kaide's POV
It was all coming together; I felt like the world was at my fingertips. As I grunted in pleasure at the virus-tight walls clamped on my member, the pleasure and victory drove me on a centered high.
“Ngh! Yes, Kaide, harder!” Alvira moaned under me as I pushed my member deeper into her aching hole. With her body on all fours, my hand strapped her waist and thrust into her with an animalistic pace and hunger for more.
I could feel her body on the edge of pleasure and climax, and my length twitched in her just as I pushed into her sweet core for the last time and came, but the sound of a phone rang and echoed across the room, interrupting our time together as I pulled out.
I took the call, expecting good news from the call I’ve been waiting for about the trap I set for Rygan, but with the first words of panic on the man’s lips, I felt that excitement die down.
Alvira watched me as she took a robe and tied it around her naked body while I stood up from the bed, wrapping a robe around my cooling skin.
“So you mean the boat port has been breached?” I muttered to a man on the phone, pacing back and forth in the lavishly furnished bedroom apartment that Dexton’s ‘partner’ graciously gave us.
“They took the bait; unlike the descriptions you gave, they looked very different, but your correspondents were right. They went for ports, but they escaped our hands before we could do anything; the woman didn’t give him up,” the man explained on the phone.
So after everything, they couldn’t still get Rygan? “Fuck!” I raged, not caring, as I pulled the table and slammed it against the wall.
After everything I had carefully planned and prepared, I made sure all reports would be made about the sightings of Rygan because I knew he would come. Boy, how my plans have been foiled because of the bastard.
It’s been almost five days since we escaped the moon city with Ethan. Yes, I’d very much like to exact my revenge on Elise and Rygan, but I needed Rygan dead first so that I could ascend the throne with no worries.
But the only way to get him was for Hayden to betray him because he would do anything for Elise. I was quite surprised when he reached out, asking for Ethan in exchange for Rygan, with a promise he’d do anything.
It was far too good of a proposition to pass by, but now they know we are onto them as they are to us. “What is it?” Alvira muttered, shocked by my outrage. I tucked my member back into my pants before I answered.
“They got close, but we couldn’t get Rygan,” I said to her. A look of relief passed by her face, and it made me mad. I couldn’t help but let that jealous seed delve deeper into me.
“You still care about him even after he abandoned you; might I remind you he was going to have us both killed?!” I snarled at her with rage. I could see crystal guilt in her gaze; she still thought she had a chance with the man who just destroyed us.
“I-I don’t…”
“You know Dexton only gave us six days till he’d give Ethan to the humans, then we will have nothing to bargain our lives with. We need to catch them,” I explained with my hand lined to her chin, tipping her gaze to mine.
“Elise is the one that ruined our lives; we need to kill her. What about Hayden? What did he say? Is she with her?”
“I’m sure even though her appearance changed, it was her because he killed a few men when he saw that Elise was also being targeted and fell into the lake with Rygan, and now Hayden is also missing, probably on the search for them,” I answered to Alvira.
“Then let our men search for them too; the quicker they are to get them, we can get our way back to freedom. Come on, it’s you and me!” Alvira muttered as she ran her hand on my chest, tracing down to my member, which twitched in intrigue as she kissed my neck.
But we were both interrupted by the sound of the door opening slowly, with our daughter Kayla coming in. She cleaned her eyes, which were wet with tears, immediately alerting us both.
“What happened?”
“It’s that boy, Ethan; he keeps crying for his mommy, and he won’t play with me; he pushed me on the ground,” she tells us, showing us her scraped knee. I could see the irritation and rage that immediately grew on Alvira's face.
Ever since she found out about Ethan and who his father was, she had been angry that Elise bore his child. She hated Elise so much that she did anything to torment her.
"Alvira, wait,” I call to her, but she ignores me, walking out of the room and down the hallway to a small room. I hear the cries of the little boy and the sound of a harsh smack before I rush out, only to see that she hit the boy hard on the cheek.
“You insolent child, how dare you hit my precious baby! Just as devilish as your mother?” She crooned, easing her hand, to hit him again. But this time, I stopped it.
“That’s enough,” I snarled to Alvira; she let out a scoff before turning to me. Her eyes glared with irritation.
“You try to question me if I have feelings for Rygan while you are protecting Elise's son; if we want to hurt her, we kill him right here!” She called with a punch to my chest.
I raise a hand to stop her from hitting me further, fire dragging from the room. “That will be enough from you; everything I have done is for you. I have tried to kill Rygan multiple times, but I bend over backward every single time because you begged me!”
“Why do you even hate him so much?”
“Because he took my place!” I rage, “He took our place; the Andras clan was supposed to forfeit the title of kings to us, to me!” I snapped, seeing Alvira jump and be terrified from my outburst, but I didn’t care.
“I was always second, always compared, and when he presented as alpha and I as beta, that was the done deal. I thought I could live with being on the sidelines, but he had everything I wanted. The throne, you Elis—” I stopped myself before I could say Elise's name.
Yes, I had gotten closer to her on Alvira's request to keep Rygan away from Elise, but there was a time when my heart wavered for her, and when she spoke of Rygan each time, it broke me.
I was always the second choice; even amongst our peers, Rygan was always the one who shined the brightest and dulled my presence.
I felt rage for my mother, who kept waiting, only following orders from his father, who was king, yet someone else got the throne and I didn’t. And a secret that has burned my past for decades now—who my true father was.
But now I had the power above both of them, and this time I’d make sure Rygan was found, and this time I'd make sure he bowed to me, making sure he regretted everything he’d ever done.
A knock is heard on the door as a human in a full suit and shades come into the room. “What is it?”
“It’s a man on the phone; he says he is Mr. Blackwoods, and he has another bargain for you.”
I couldn’t help a snail play on my lips; their torment was just about to begin, and I’m not backing down without a victory.
And everything will be mine.
