Sophie’s POV
The townhouse sits tucked between two larger buildings in an upscale neighborhood, discreet enough that you'd walk past without noticing if you didn't know it was there.
Expensive cars line the private drive. Dim amber lighting glows from behind heavy curtains.
Adrian's hand is warm and possessive on my waist as we approach the entrance. A doorman nods us through without asking for names—we're clearly expected.
The moment we step inside, the atmosphere envelops us like warm water: low lighting, sensual music thrumming beneath the murmur of conversation, and everywhere, bodies in various states of undress and leather.
I feel transported back three years to when this was our world, our escape. Before the scandal, before the complications, when it was just Adrian and me exploring the edges of desire together.
A woman in an elegant corset and nothing else glides past, leading her partner by a leather leash. In the corner, someone is bound to a St. Andrew's cross while their Dom works them over with a flogger, each strike measured and controlled.
The air itself feels charged with sexual energy, thick with the scent of expensive perfume and arousal.
"Remember this?" Adrian murmurs in my ear, his breath hot against my neck. "Remember when we'd come to places like this and disappear for hours?"
I do remember. The freedom of it, the anonymity, the way we could shed our everyday personas and become only sensation and need. My body remembers too—heat pooling low in my belly, skin hypersensitive to every touch.
Adrian guides me deeper into the space, introducing me to people we pass with subtle pride in his voice:
"My fiancée, Sophie." The possessive emphasis isn't lost on anyone.
His hand never leaves my body—waist, hip, the small of my back. Claiming me publicly in this space where ownership and submission are openly celebrated.
We accept champagne from a server dressed only in leather briefs. The bubbles are crisp on my tongue, loosening the tension I've carried since our conversation about Bellamy.
Around us, scenes play out with practiced intimacy—a sub kneeling beautifully at her Dominant's feet, a couple locked in deep negotiation before beginning their play, moans of pleasure drifting from private rooms.
Then Adrian's pulling me into a semi-private alcove, partially shielded by sheer curtains that create the illusion of privacy while still making us visible to anyone who looks closely.
Before I can speak, his mouth is on mine—hungry, demanding, swallowing whatever protest I might have offered.
His hands are immediately roaming under my dress, sliding up my thighs with possessive familiarity.
I gasp against his mouth as his fingers brush the lace edge of my underwear, teasing without giving me what my body suddenly craves.
"I've been thinking about this all day," Adrian growls against my neck, teeth scraping sensitive skin. "About getting you alone, reminding you exactly who you belong to."
His hand slides higher, pressing between my legs through the thin fabric.
My body responds instantly, heat and wetness, even as my mind struggles to catch up. He knows exactly how to touch me, what pressure drives me wild, where to stroke to make me forget my own name.
"Remember the first time I tied you up?" His voice is filthy, dark with promise. "How you fought it at first, then surrendered so completely? How I made you come three times before I even fucked you?"
I do remember. The memory alone makes me clench around nothing, my body aching for him despite everything.
"Remember when I had you on your knees in front of that mirror?"
His fingers slide beneath the lace now, finding me already wet.
"Made you watch yourself fall apart on my fingers while I described exactly what I was going to do to you after?"
"Adrian…" His name comes out breathy, desperate.
"That's right. Say my name. Remember who makes you feel like this."
He works me expertly, fingers circling and pressing until I'm panting, clinging to his shoulders. My body knows his so intimately, responds to him with practiced ease. Every nerve ending lights up under his touch.
When his thumb finds my clit and presses just right, I bite back a moan, hyperaware of the people moving past our alcove, some glancing in with knowing smiles.
"I'm going to take you home tonight and tie you to our bed,"
Adrian promises, voice rough with need as his fingers move faster.
"Going to make you scream my name until you forget anyone else exists. Until you remember that you're mine, Sophie. Only mine."
My body is responding, climbing toward release, but even as pleasure builds, there's a strange disconnection. I'm watching myself from outside—seeing Sophie pressed against the wall, Adrian's hand between her legs, playing the role she's supposed to play.
The woman who belongs here, who finds her escape in this world, who's completely present in this moment.
But part of me is absent. Observing rather than inhabiting.
Adrian doesn't notice. He's too focused on my physical responses, the way my breath hitches, how I'm gripping his shoulders. When I come, shuddering against his hand, he captures my mouth in a triumphant kiss.
"That's my girl," he murmurs with satisfaction.
He withdraws his hand, adjusts my dress with gentle care that contrasts sharply with the intensity of moments before. Then he takes my hand and leads me to another area where a scene is in progress.
A woman is suspended in intricate rope bondage, her body a canvas of carefully placed knots and lines. The patterns are beautiful, artistic—purple rope against pale skin creating geometric designs that highlight and accentuate.
Her Dom circles her slowly, checking each tie, occasionally adding a new element to the composition. The trust between them is palpable, visible in every breath, every adjustment.
Adrian pulls me close, wrapping his arms around me from behind as we watch. His breath is warm against my ear when he whispers: "That'll be us. Always. This connection, this trust, this intensity—nothing else comes close."
I lean back against him because it's expected, because my body still hums with release, because this is what we do. But the words settle heavy in my chest.
Always. The promise feels both too large and too fragile.
We stay for another hour, circulating through rooms, watching scenes, engaging in the kind of casual conversation that happens in spaces like this where sexuality is openly displayed and discussed.
Adrian is relaxed in a way I haven't seen him in weeks, more himself here than anywhere else lately.
In the car driving home, his hand rests possessively on my thigh. The satisfied smile on his face suggests he believes tonight accomplished what he wanted—reconnection, reclamation, proof that we still work.
"Did you enjoy it?" he asks, glancing over at me.
"Yes," I lie smoothly, giving him the answer he needs.
But the truth is I spent the entire drive thinking about Bellamy. About the way he looked at me before he left my apartment, the raw honesty in his voice when he said watching me marry Adrian was already hard enough.
About steady hands that never demand, eyes that see me completely, a presence that requires nothing but offers everything.
I stare out the window at passing streetlights and wonder what it means that my body responds so completely to Adrian while my heart keeps drifting toward someone else.
