John Elliott put his arms around Elly's waist and pulled her away, avoiding the dangerous look from Emily's calculating eyes.
Elly was forcibly dragged away, however, she still tried to look back at the pitiful and small boy named Kitten who was curling up in a ball of tears.
"John, can you please let me say goodbye to that little friend? I'll be right back." She pleaded for John's allowance while her steps deliberately slowed down.
John immediately denied it, he hastily took her hand and intended to drag her away: "He probably belongs to a rich and famous family. Don't be too enthusiastic about helping others like that or they would consider us evil people who want to take advantage of their wealthy background... Alex! Stop following us. You are bearing a great resemblance to an escort right now."
Realizing that Alex suddenly appeared right in front of them, John put Elly behind his back. Elly found him extremely strange, maybe he was full of hatred towards that man standing in the way, she thought.
"Mr. Alex, please get out of the way. We don't share the same values, I don't want to continue talking to such a man like you." John tried to contain the anger that was rising inside him to talk in the politest way as he can.
Alex stood still without answering John, his eyes stared directly at Elly's figure behind him. He suddenly had a weird feeling that her slim waistline looked intimately familiar to him. "Mr. Alex, please don't be driven with your lust towards my lovely fiancée. How disgraceful you are!" – John Elliott said to him with a sharp voice, then pulled Elly closer, into his embrace.
By witnessing this action, Alex surely confirms that this woman right here was not the one that he had always searching for. Maddy would never allow another man to touch her body right in front of her husband's eyes, he affirmed that thought right away.
"How unfortunate, I have mistaken the wrong person. I'm truly sorry for my behavior."
Smiling at himself and being self-loathing, Alex instantly stepped back and gave way to the two of them.
John led Elly go straight ahead and ignored Alex who stood behind, he whispered into Elly's ear with a soft voice but loud enough to make Alex hear it all, "Mr. Alex will have numerous chances to meet a variety of different people from many walks of life, but he will never have someone who appreciates him as his ex-wife."
Alex was shaken with various thoughts, that he could not do anything but stand still in his present position and watched the couple having deep intimacy gradually vanishing at the small corner. Only when the tiny and sweet voice of Kitten calling him helped revive him.
"Dad! I just saw mom, Maddy. Mother was much prettier than her being in the old photo at our home."
"Kitten, who did you meet? Can you tell me again?" Alex glanced at Emily who was dashing to their position, he quickly sat down in front of his child.
Maddy's private and personal information had always remained anonymous for three years now to Alex. He had not been able to investigate every single detail about this woman. As a consequence, all the things that he had told Kitten about his mother were highly vague. Although Kitten was originally afraid of Alex's cold and indifferent look, today when he had the opportunity to run into his father, it made him extremely happy. He bravely took his father's hands and shook them carefully.
"That was exactly mommy Maddy. But she has already followed that handsome gentleman." Kitten gently blinked his eyes, innocently replied to Alex.
"Daddy, why did you let mommy go away and leave us behind? I want mom and dad take me home together. A child needs his parents. I want to have a mom. I desperately want mom to come back right now. "
Emily anxiously interrupted their conversation.
"Kitten, what's the heck are you saying? That was not your mother. She also said that you had mistaken her as your intimate one."
She looked at Alex and explained, "He was angry with me for not feeding him candy at night, so he escaped from me to go here to play and just randomly regarded everyone as his mom. I used to meet the girl who had just been here, she went to your company to make an appointment for a job interview. Surely, she wanted to make use of Kitten to approach you to be admitted to the company. This was a conspiracy, and Kitten was a child, so he was easily tricked by that woman."
"Emily is lying. Obviously, that is the mother of Kitten." Kitten argued.
"A good child can not lie and behave disobediently like this. If you continued being like this, you won't ever be loved by anyone. "
"That was my mother, my mother, Daddy. If it weren't for Emily being hateful, mommy Maddy wouldn't have refused to accept Kitten." Kitten fought back.
Alex frowned at his son, indifferently asked Emily: "Emily, what have you taught Kitten? Why does he speak so disrespectfully to adults? Are you sure you can take care of him? If you couldn't, I'll arrange a babysitter."
"Arranging the nanny to take care of Kitten, and then you will kick me out of our house?" Emily was terribly shocked, her eyes opened widely which made her tears begin to flow up at the corners of her eyelids. Her voice was unbearably sad and pitiful. "Three years, it has been three years, I have always loved and respected you. I take care of Kitten as best as I can. What do I get in return? I have lived in our house for such a long period, but you never have a thought of wanting to marry me."
Alex looked at her coldly, his expression was so indifferent that normal people looking at him would not assume that he was in love with the woman standing in front of him. Emily pulled his shirt slowly, the trembling fingers made her seem way too pitiful.
"Alex, you have no intention of marrying me for the rest of your life, do you? You let your son call me as his mother, but you couldn't seem to give me an official identity to become your legal wife. What could I do to make you satisfy, so that you wouldn't be so mean to me like this? For the past three years, hadn't my sincerity been enough for you to grant me the opportunity to become your wife?"
