One of Us Did It

Chapter 9

Ch. 9 / 10 May 16, 2025

Marcus and Sophia crept down the dim hallway, the flashlight in his hand casting flickering shadows on the walls. The storm outside howled like a wild animal, rattling the windows with each gust of wind.

“Are you sure this bathroom works?” Sophia whispered, clutching his arm as they walked.

“Better than the one in the room,” Marcus replied, glancing at her. “We’ll be fine.”

They reached a door at the end of the hallway. Marcus turned the handle and pushed it open, revealing a spacious bathroom with a clawfoot tub and an old-fashioned sink.

“Here,” Marcus said, stepping aside to let her in.

Sophia hesitated, glancing over her shoulder at the dark hallway behind them. “Don’t leave,” she warned, her voice firm but nervous.

“I’m not going anywhere,” Marcus assured her with a faint smirk, leaning against the doorframe.

Sophia stepped inside, quickly doing what she needed to do. As she washed her hands in the icy water, she muttered, “This house is the worst.”

Suddenly, the lights flickered once, twice… and then went out completely.

“Marcus?” she called, her voice shaking.

“I’m here,” he replied from just outside the door.

Feeling her way along the wall, Sophia pushed the door open and stumbled out. She bumped into Marcus immediately, clutching his arm.

“I hate this place,” she whispered.

“I know,” Marcus murmured, his voice low. His hand moved to her face, brushing back a strand of her hair.

Sophia froze as their eyes locked in the dim glow of the flashlight. The air between them felt thick, charged with an intensity she couldn’t ignore.

Marcus leaned down, his lips brushing hers softly at first. When she didn’t pull away, the kiss deepened, growing harder and hungrier.

Sophia gasped as his hands slid down her waist, gripping her tightly. She pushed herself up against him, her fingers tangling in his hair. The kiss was desperate, raw, and completely consuming.

Marcus pressed her back against the wall, his knee slipping between her legs as his hands tugged her shirt over her head. His mouth moved to her neck, kissing and biting softly, making her arch into him.

“Marcus,” she whispered, her voice trembling.

“Don’t talk,” he muttered, his lips brushing against her collarbone.

He lifted her effortlessly, her legs wrapping around his waist. His hands slid under her thighs, gripping her firmly as he pressed her harder against the wall. Sophia moaned softly, her head tipping back as his mouth trailed lower.

Her hands moved down his back, slipping under his shirt, and she tugged it off in one swift motion. She ran her nails over his skin, making him groan low in his throat.

Marcus unfastened her pants, yanking them down in a single motion. His fingers brushed against her, making her shiver and gasp.

He didn’t hesitate. He pushed her underwear aside, his hand steady on her hip as he positioned himself.

“Look at me,” he murmured, his voice rough.

She met his gaze, her breath hitching as he pushed inside her slowly, stretching her. Her nails dug into his shoulders as she let out a soft cry, her back arching against the wall.

“Damn,” Marcus mumbled, his jaw tightening as he moved deeper, filling her completely.

Sophia moaned, wrapping her arms tighter around his neck. “Harder,” she whispered.

His grip on her thighs tightened as he began thrusting into her, his movements strong and deliberate. Each stroke sent a jolt through her body, her soft gasps and moans matching the rhythm of his movements.

Sophia’s hands slid down his back, slick with sweat, and she gripped his hips, urging him on. His pace quickened, his thrusts harder and deeper as their breathing grew ragged.

“Marcus…” she gasped, her voice cracking.

“Shut up,” he growled, his mouth finding hers again. He kissed her hard, his tongue sliding against hers as his hips snapped against hers in quick, powerful strokes.

She bit down softly on his lip, pulling back just enough to whisper, “Won’t they notice we’re gone?”

“Let them,” Marcus muttered, his voice low and strained.

His movements grew faster, rougher, his hands gripping her hips as he drove into her. Sophia’s cries grew louder, her nails raking down his back. He buried his face in her neck, his lips and teeth working against her skin as his rhythm sent waves of pleasure coursing through her.

Sophia’s legs tightened around him, her body trembling as she tipped over the edge. Her head fell back against the wall, her moans echoing in the small bathroom as she came undone.

Marcus followed moments later, his body tensing as he buried himself inside her one last time, groaning softly against her neck.

For a moment, neither of them moved, their bodies still pressed tightly together as they caught their breath.

Finally, Marcus pulled back slightly, his forehead resting against hers.

“That night… at Eleanor’s party,” Sophia whispered, her voice shaky.

Marcus’s gaze darkened, but he didn’t pull away. “You remember it all, don’t you?”

Sophia nodded. “She saw us, Marcus. That night. She saw everything.”

Marcus’s jaw tightened, his hands still gripping her hips. “She didn’t say anything to me.”

“She didn’t have to,” Sophia murmured. “The way she looked at me… it was like she wanted me dead.”
