My Sexy Boss

Chapter 75: Beach

Ch. 75 / 138 Sep 17, 2024

FARRAH INVITED me to go out for a party at the resto-bar, but I refused because I avoided the hangover the next day.

"Are you sure about that? Our schedule is hectic, and in the next few days, it's a pity if you don't come now," Farrah pushed me.

I can't agree because I feel like there were eyes looking at me. I watched him near, hiding behind my curtain of mahogany hair and noticing his power behind those breathtaking eyes.

"Ah, next time, maybe when the work is done," I said before looking away from him again.

"All right, you take care. Good night!" Eventually, she also agreed and pulled some staff and Jacky to head to the resto-bar near the hotel.

"Beshy, you know, this is really what I came here for!" She kissed me and waved her hand goodbye. I could do nothing but follow her with my gaze as a smile appeared on my lips.

"Care to take a walk?" I heard Nicholas said. I slowly lifted my head. His eyes brought heat underneath my eyes. His mouth pursed but slightly open and loose.

My eyes flicker to him, but just a minute. I need to swallow hard to be able to speak clearly. "Ah, of course. I loved to," I hesitantly said.

He grinned to reveal his straight, pearly teeth and held my hand carefully.

We had been walking on the beach for a few minutes, but neither wanted to open a conversation. The heap of the sea swelled silently. Waves were rippling gently. The air was pregnant with the smell of salt and cold breeze.

He stopped walking, so I did the same. We were now facing the horizon. It was soothing, and I was glad to get away from the hurly-burly and stresses of life.

I glanced at him that remained in my side while staring at the sea. I filled my lungs with glassy air before I open my mouth.

"Nicholas . . ." I uttered his name and looked up at him again.

He bent down to stare me in the eyes. His eyes caressed me. I slowly drifted off the clouds. My heart felt warm and lovely.

"Are you mad?" I whispered. I focused on his lips because I couldn't meet the kind of look he had on me.

"If I didn't care about you, I wouldn't get so mad at the things you do," he said and slowly tapped my head.

I closed my eyes tightly because of what he did, especially when he hugged me without warning. I even heard his violent sigh next to me as we both stared at the sea.

I don't know why we came to this. I am a nobody. I considered myself a tiny insect. That nobody will care and love as much as I do.

"I'm sorry . . ." I muttered. My tears of remorse flooded. I don't know why I feel sorry. I also don't know where my tears will be cured and how to stop them.

I felt him hugged me and whispered some words in my ears.

"You don't deserve any of these. You're a strong woman. For once, cry all you want. Crying will make you feel better, trust me." His voice was very soothing, especially when he caressed my back.

I moved slightly away from him to wipe away my tears. I also forced myself to smile and look back at sea.

"I'm okay now!" I expelled.

"I know you really wanted to make things better. But don't forget to love yourself first before others," he whispered again.

I smiled hallow of madness. I lifted my head and gazed deep at him.

"To be honest, I'm exhausted. Sometimes I really feel like giving up, but I remember that I have dreams. Not just for myself but for my family. I want to make them proud and happy," I whispered.

He tilted his head to mine, leveled an enticing look. "I know, you're a strong woman. I'm just here behind you, whatever happens. I promise to be the warrior who fights all your nightmare. So stop worrying about what you have to lose and start focusing on what you have to gain, okay?"

"Thanks," I murmured, tears gathered in the corners of my eyes, threatening to spill out again.

"Shh . . . Please don't." He squeezed my two cheeks. For a few more seconds, we were both stunned. His eyes wandered and watched until the distance was obscure.

I feel like I have forgotten to breathe because he was so close to me. I could feel my heart pounding erratically, and before I could make a move, his lips quickly touched mine.

My eyes opened in surprise. I need to do something, but why do I seem to be paralyzed? I can't even make a move. My knees tremble like a leaf. I closed my eyes so that he could stop me, but I saw something different when I closed my eyes.

Its Rexon. His lethal and piercing glared that tearing me apart at the back of my head. I quickly pushed Nicholas and chose to avert my eyes because I couldn't see how he would react.

"I'm sorry," I whispered before quickly turning away.

"Cherry!" I even heard him call my name, but I just ignored him.

I went back to the hotel, knowing that he was following me.

"Cherry, wait!" His ponderous hand grabbed my arm firmly.

I closed my eyes before stopping to walk. I filled my chest with air before facing him.

"Okay, I'm sorry. I mean it!" he bluntly said in between his rapid breathing.

"Nicholas, why did you do that?" My eyes dwindled.

"Because I like you, Cherry! Tell me you like me too." I could see a silver emotion in those shrewd eyes.

I took a deep breath and missed a few passing guests before answering.

"I'm sorry," I said in my undertone voice.

His lower jaw protrudes slightly. I know he didn't like what I said because he still holding my arm.

"We have early work tomorrow. I need some rest. If you'll please excuse me." I moved my arm to get away from him, and he let go of my arm freely, so I quickly turned my back on him again to go to my suite.

Tears slipped down my face when I got into my bed. I don't know why I am fucking so emotional. I know I hurt him too much, and I felt so guilty about it. I don't know now how to deal with him tomorrow. Once again, my emotions turn jagged and my insides tight.
