Caliana's POV
"You disappoint me, Caliana," I turned to the gruff voice, I swallowed thickly and backed away from him, his eyes were gold as he approached and before I knew it, my legs were already in the pond.
"What do you mean," I asked, my legs were getting cold but I didn't want to leave. His aura was calm. He sat on the bench.
"You have been here for a few months now and never have I seen this fear in your eyes, not even the day you got here," He said.
"I'm not- scared- of you," I stuttered.
"Then why are you standing in the pond when it's this cold?" He asked me. He stood up and walked to me, he extended his hand to me but I shook my head. He looked nervous now, and he sighed, running his hand through my fingers, he was FUCKING gorgeous.
"Did you watch as rogues kill her?"
"Who?"
"Jane Anne,"
"Who told you about her?"
"It doesn't matter," I retorted. " Did you do all those things to her and her pack?"
He sighed and said.
"You are safe with me, Caliana, she was a different case," I wanted to growl, he wasn't admitting or refuting what I asked,
"You're a monster,"
"I know," He said and walked away from me. I dragged my legs out of the water and sighed in relief seeing that he was gone. I leaned against the wall and he was back before I could escape him, standing in front of me. I wanted to push him away but I knew it would do no good. He put his hands on either side of me, boxing me.
"I want to go to my room now," I whispered, he bent down and inhaled my neck. My wolf purrs and I feel tingles. I curl my hand in a ball in hopes to avoid any involuntary movements from them.
"Caliana, don't avoid me," He said in a sexy voice that sent waves of shiver down my spine. I was annoyed by the way he was making me feel and I was more upset that he talked about killing Love's mother like it didn't bother him. I pushed him away and gave him an incredulous look. " I just found out you killed the mother of your only child and you expect me to just act like everything is fine?" I retorted. I glared at him, bitterly while he had a look he always had; Placid.
"I will avoid you henceforth,"
"No, not you, please," He begged. His lips were against my neck, sucking and licking me. I was having a hard time breathing and I wanted badly to tilt my neck, to give him more access but I didn't let my passion get the best of me.
"You don't love me, and have made it clear that I'm here as people's Luna, not yours so don't expect anything more than that," I said.
"So that's what you're really angry about," He stated amused. I pushed him away and punched him in the face. He was stunned for a moment but the upper part of his lips quivered into a tiny smile. While he caressed his jaw, I ran my fingers through my hair, breathing heavily. I let out a scream several times and started to walk away but he grabbed my waist and kissed my neck.
"Where are you going?"
"Away from you, Alpha!"
"Why?"
"You disgust me," I said. He growled at me and I looked at him in his eyes.
"Are you going to kill me, Alpha Edward," He frowned but didn't let me go,
"Can you kiss me," He asked and my body shivered, I held still, glaring daggers at him,
"No," I denied and pushed him past me. He only chuckled and connected his lips unto me. I have never been kissed the way he did at that moment, so demanding. I managed to push him away from me and wiped my lips with my fingers.
"What can I do to make you feel better?" He asked. The gentleness in his tone and the desperation in his eyes shocked me. Alpha Edward was sincere, he didn't want me to be angry at him any longer, but why?
"So much happened that you don't know and I'm not ready to indulge in the details but hopefully I will one day. I just want your stay here to be comfortable and um...Joyful, we are married and this is your home... Forever," I was too stunned to speak, he was thinking about me. However, what I heard from Dean still haunted me, and I backed further into the wall. He stepped back, he was treating me like a scared injured animal he wanted to help. He slowly extended his hand to me " It's chilly today, why don't we go inside so that you change out of those wet clothes first, and I'll tell Lena to prepare hot cocoa for you, is that alright?" He was still being gentle with me, I slowly reached up to take his hand but I saw something in the corner of my eyes... or someone. His fucking present from that bitch, she was watching us behind a tree with a smile on her lips, wearing almost nothing and I growled. Edward twisted his neck to look at what I was glaring at and his face paled and he growled. The woman came out and stuck out her chest.
"I was told to check if you changed your mind by Candace," She looked awkward but still forced a smile, and when she mentioned Candace, it did all sort of crazy in my head, she was locked up yet she was part of our lives.
"This will never end, will end," I growled at Edward, he approached the woman and she backed away in fear, I didn't want to see whatever happened next so I shifted into my wolf and ran from there.
I howled angrily at the moon when I reached the clearing. I was angry and confused, Edward, Edward, Edward, my wolf was chanting. I hated myself at that moment for falling in love with him even though I vowed not to. I stayed there for a long time before I felt movement in the nearby bushes. It was Dean Henderson. His eyes were filled with passion and were in awe of the beauty of my wolf. He got down on one knee and touched my fur.
"You are extremely lovely, you know," He said. I didn't want to talk right now. I was too enraged at my mate and myself. I wanted retribution for my heartbreaking. I sat up from the ground and eyed Dean. I shifted back into my human form and his eyes darkened as he assessed my naked body. I walked towards him and kissed his lips, Dean was still processing the situation, and slowly, his hands wrapped around my waist as he kissed me back.
Caliana's POV
The kiss was kind and sensual, his fingers were caressing my sides and tears rolled down my cheeks
'What do you think you're doing, Cali?' My wolf gasped.
'Getting my revenge on that so-called mate of yours," I retorted.
'Not like this,' I blocked her out and pressed my chest closer to Dean, making him breathe sharply.
I pulled away, Dean was still stunned. I went to sit on the boulders and faced the mountain. I couldn't believe how bold I was to do that, and I knew Alpha Edward felt the sharp pain of a mate's betrayal in his chest. The pain wouldn't be as much as it was when he had sex with Candace the day I got to the manor but it will be there.
"That was unexpected," Dean said as he sat next to me.
"You didn't like it? I saw your needy gaze and went for it,"
"You kissed me because you're doing me a favor? Don't make me laugh,"
"I had my reasons... We both got what we wanted," I said. He sat next to me, an hour passed and another.
"You should go home now," I heard Dean say.
"I don't want to... Go to yours, this is my spot," I said quietly. The truth is that I was scared to go home. Alpha Edward would kill me after the impetuous thing I did.
"You are scared,"
"Why would I?"
"You are scared about your Alpha mate's reaction. If you are bonded by the moon, he felt that little kiss you gave me," He said.
"He said he wouldn't hurt me," I told him.
"Was that before you kissed me?" I lifted my gaze and looked at him. He smiled
"Come to my home with me," He suddenly said and I raised my eyebrows.
