Garret
I never cared much for love or women. I had women, so many but they were just there to satisfy my desires. I was the life of a party, and I lived for myself. I was going home on one Saturday night, running away from all the females that were hovering over me and trying to take advantage of drunk me when a woman hit my car. I grabbed the door open and stepped out, staggering a little as I was still drunk.
" Why the fuck was she running into the middle of the road," I murmured. I crouched down to the woman and turned her on her back. I was instantly enchanted by the beauty on the floor. She had smooth flawless honey skin, long lashes, and plump lips. Her eyes were closed and I wished so much she could open them.
' You fucking idiot, you've hit her with the car! Carry her and take her to a fucking doctor!' My inner lycan, Koen, roared. He was frantic.
' Relax, she's not dead. I can hear her heartbeat,' I retorted. I grabbed her and carried her to my car but I was using a sports car today, so I didn't know how comfortable she would be.
Getting on the other side of the car, I drove her to the clinic. They put her on a stretcher as soon as they got her from my arms and took her to another room.
I started to walk away from there when Koen spoke again ' You hit her with a car, the least you could do is wait and see how she's doing,' he growled.
' No, she came in front of me and I think she fainted in fear. I didn't see any injuries,' I refuted. Her face played in my mind again and I hesitated. I inhaled, determined to leave but my legs wouldn't. What the actual fuck was this? I stood against the wall for a while, just hoping that the door would open and I'd be allowed to go home. I needed fucking rest. My cousins and I drank a lot as we were celebrating Marcos and Elaine's wedding this week. I still couldn't believe how well life turned out for everyone. They all found their love and are now happy! I was most grateful to the moon goddess for that.
The door opened about half an hour later and the doctor smiled at me, " She is fine now, just resting," he informed me. I turned to leave now but he stopped me. I was going to kill someone, couldn't they see how drunk I was?
" Aren't you going to see her?"
" I don't know her, she just jumped in front of my car," I informed him and he frowned, wanting to say more. He opened his mouth but didn't so I left. I didn't go to the manor, instead, I went to my apartment building, seeing it was closer. As soon as my body touched the sheets, I slept.
RING, RING, RING
The shrill of my phone made me grunt and my hand went to search for it on the bedside but it fell, I was hoping it had broken so it stopped ringing. I went back to sleep but it rang again. Who called so early in the morning?
I opened my eyes and sat up straight. I got my phone and put it to my ear without checking the caller ID.
" What?"
" Good morning, Mr. Chasia. I'm Doctor Buzz," I groaned when he said that.
" How may I help you this morning," I said.
" Um, sir, it's 5 p.m. on Sunday," he said.
" Well, good evening, now, why did you interrupt my sleep," I asked.
" It's about the young lady you brought,"
" Which lady?" For a while, I had no recollection of the memory until my lycan showed me images of what happened on my way back from Marcos' and Elaine's party.
" She just left the hospital without being discharged," he informed me.
" That's good, she's no longer your problem,"
" She didn't look alright. I don't know if I should tell you but she had bruises on her back on arms, I'm afraid she's on the run," he informed me and my heart dropped, why did I feel this way? I tried to remember the woman's face again but only blurred visions of her appeared.
" Well, we did our best and we can only hope she is safe,"
" Yes sir, but I've sent some people to look for her in the streets just in case," he said and I nodded, ending the call.
