Candy went straight to Yazmine's place, so they could go to the small hotel the company had rented for the party.
She had informed Diego through a message but hadn't got a reply from him. Is he still mad at her? Maybe she should have just obeyed him.. no, she needed to earn respect from him.
Stepping into the large comfortable apartment, Candy smiled.
"Your place is beautiful," She remarked.
"Really? Thanks" Yazmine said. "What would you like to drink"
"Oh no I'm fi.." before she could finish, Yazmine glared at her. "I mean, an orange juice will do". Hearing this, Yazmine's smile returned.
"Better," She said.
Candy took a deep breath. "Her look can literally kill" she mumbled.

Meanwhile, Alexa walked into a cold street and made a call.
"I'm there already, where are you?" She asked the person on the other side.
"There is a black car across the street. Come and meet me there" The person ordered. Alexa's eyes dart around and spot the black luxurious car.
Getting there, she spotted a woman sitting in the back seat and a lady sitting in the front.
'President's stepmother?' She thought to herself.
"Get in" Hannah ordered and she obeyed.
"Good evening ma'am.. uhm, how may I help you?" Alexa asked, keeping her gaze low.
"There's a small party tonight" Hannah turned her head to Alexa and continued. "I want you to do me a small favor and in return. You can ask whatever you want from me"
Alexa's eyes widened.
After discussing with her for a while, Alexa left.
Venessa immediately turned her gaze to Hannah.
"Is she trustworthy? What if she screwed our plans"
"I'm good with selecting desperate people. Don't worry about her. She'll do what I ask" Hannah replied.

The spacious hall buzzed with employees from both Gonzalez's and Jefferson's companies, coming together for a modest celebration marking the merger of the two firms.
Candy couldn't keep her gaze away from Diego. He was sitting with Jameson.
"He is such a jerk," Jackie muttered beside her. Candy, who heard this, snapped her head to her.
"Who?" She asked.
"Jameson of course"
"Haha," Candy made an awkward laugh. She thought she was referring to Diego. "Why did you say that?"
"I was trying to act nice but he acted cold"
'Same here' Candy thought to herself.
"Do you like him?" Candy asked.
"Hell no," Jackie chuckled.
"Hey guys" Yazmine came to sit with them, dropping three glasses of wine on the table.
"I watched them open a fresh wine," Yazmine said Candy smiled.
"Thanks"
A waitress hit her leg on the table and mistakenly poured a drink on Candy.
"You've got to be kidding me" Yazmine glared at the waitress.
"I'm so sorry.. I'm sorry Mrs. President," She shivered.
Candy gave Diego a look, he wasn't looking at her side. She was glad.
"You should change your dress. You'll be called out soon" Yazmine said. "I bought the other dress you tried on," She pulled out a box.
With this, Yazmine escorted Candy out of the hall. Getting to the dressing room. Candy went in to change while Yazmine waited for her outside.
A guard walked towards Yazmine.
"Someone broke your car miss"
"What?!" Yazmine frowned and followed him. Getting there, she saw it wasn't hers.
"That's not mine" Yazmine shook her head
"Sorry, I must have mistaken" He apologized and Yazmine went back to the room, only to find Candy gone. She went back to the hall but didn't find her.
"Where is she?" She mumbled.

Candy opened the door gently and found Alexa breathing hard. After she had finished dressing up, she saw Alexa who complained of her body reacting weird.
Alexa is her ex-supervisor so Candy is bound to be worried.
"We should go to the hospital instead," Candy said.
"No, I just need to have water around me and I'll be fine," Alexa said in between her breath.
Candy's gaze moved to the swimming pool beside them. She sighed worriedly.
"This swimming pool seems deep and I can't swim" She stated.
"I can't swim.. either"
"I should call for help"
"Ahh!" Alexa crunched down. Squeezing her face in pain.
"Alexa" Candy rushed to her. Alexa pretended to be falling into the water knowing Candy would grab it. Just like she had thought, she did.
Alexa pulled herself up using Candy, adding more force so Candy could lose her balance.
The world seems to stop around Candy as she found herself falling into the water, everything turn blur and she couldn't breath.

"When will he be here?" Diego asked Jameson.
"Old Mavis should be on his way. Let me give him a call" Jameson pulled out his phone and called him.
"Oh, grandson. I've been trying to reach you. The doctor gave me a call asking for my health. He said shouldn't go out yet when I told him about the party"
"I'm glad you're not coming. Rest well old man" Diego said gently and ended the call.
"Let's leave," He said to Jameson.
"What? Aren't you going to hear Candy's speech before leaving?" Jameson asked.
"The only reason I came was because of the old man and he's not her, so let's leave"
"Miss. Candy?" The man on stage called but she was nowhere to be found. Jameson's eyes went to her seat and only Jackie panicked a little.
"Something is not right," Jameson muttered.
Just then, Yazmine came running and she yelled.
"Candy is trouble! She is in the pool!!"
Diego's eyes widened upon hearing those words. Without thinking twice he rushed there before anyone could. The blood on his face dried up seeing Candy in the pool unmoved.
"Fuck" He immediately pulled down his jacket and dived in shocking those staring.
"Oh no!" Jackie's lips trembled while Jameson clenched his jaw.
Getting her out, Diego tapped on Candy's cheek severally.
"Candy, wake up!!" He exclaimed, one could hear the panic in his voice.. like he was scared.
He placed both hands on her chest and pressed it several times. He then connected his lips with hers blowing some her into it.
Candy's eyes remained closed but he didn't stop. A memory flashed before him. His mother lay like this while he tried to revive her.
"Please wake up!!!" He yelled again and pressed her chest again.
Finally, she coughed, spilling out water from her mouth. Relief flashed over Diego's face as he drew her close after she was calm. He was hugging her tight.
"Are you okay now?" He asked lightly, his voice soft.
"Yes.." Her voice was so low.
"I'm glad," He said.
Others behind gave each other a look. They had never seen Diego this way.
"I should take you to the hospital" He whispered and she nodded slowly against his chest.
Not minding the stares around him, Diego stood and carried Candy in a bridal. He slowly stepped out of the place, while others started with shock..
Candy also didn't care what others thought. Instead, she drew her face closer to his chest and closed her eyes feeling his warmth.....
