Chapter 127

Damon

With fury lodged in my heart and jealousy plastering my eyes, I turned to give them the last look before allowing jealousy to loom over me like a dark cloud.

Despite the door shut, it was like I could see them.

The scene won't leave my head. The image of Devin and Dax eating Aurora up like hungry monsters kept replaying in my head…almost haunting me.

But that wasn't enough to get me madly jealous.

I didn't mind sharing Aurora with my brothers as I shared Ivy.

Aurora.

The moment her name left my lips, I felt another surge of jealousy, almost paralyzing me.

The fact that she didn't even spare me a second glance before hissing and pulling my brothers towards her crushed my soul.

How dare she enjoy the sex after leaving me horny and frustrated.

“Argh!” I groaned in anger, kicking the flower vase against the wall. The effect made it shatter into pieces as the soil and the flower scattered all over the floor.

It better be cleaned by the time I was taking this route again, else the housekeepers are in trouble.

“Don't blame the housekeepers, and don't transfer your frustrations on them.” A voice in my head echoed, making me halt for a moment.

A frown descended upon my face when I realized that it was my wolf.

Lucky him.

If it were someone else, I could have strangled such an unfortunate fellow in the blink of an eye.

No one dared question my authority.

“Shut up and hibernate like you used to,” I responded harshly before filling the corridor with the sound of my loud hissing.

“You are angry at Aurora when it's obvious that you are the problem. Check yourself, Damon, I feel there is something you should know, but you are still in the dark.”

Great!

After hibernating for years, suddenly he starts to lecture me?!

What other crazy thing should I expect from him?

Maybe babysit me and instruct me about running the affairs of the pack!

A growl slipped from my throat, signaling my irritation. “I don't give a fuck about what you feel and I didn't ask for your advice. You know what? Why don't you take that silly advice and shove it up your ass!” I blasted. I could hear the echo of my thunderous voice in my head.

“That's it, you don't ever listen to advice, that is the reason Aurora loves your brothers more than she loves you,” he lamented. I could feel his urge to spill more hurtful words, but he was fighting hard to control himself.

“You know what? Screw Aurora. I don't care anymore. She could have them to herself.” I murmured adamantly, spewing curses as I marched along the lonely corridor.

I felt like a jealous teenager whose crush was snatched by a high school bully, but who cares?

“I can't believe this is happening again. Your negligence led to the loss of our first mate, and now your pushy attitude is making you lose your second-chance mate. To even think that you should be more grateful because the moon goddess hardly gives a second-chance mate. When will you ever learn?!” I could feel his frustration as his voice rose angrily.

The gritting of his sharp canines and his harsh breath resonated in my head.

I could feel my stomach twist into knots rapidly as flashes of Ivy's last memory raided my head.

How could he bring her up when I haven't healed?

“I've heard enough. Keep mute or I'll shut you in the dark!” I threatened before shutting my eyes in pain.

“Do it. That's the only thing you are good at, shutting people out.”

My fist rolled into a ball as pain fastened it claws on my heart.

My breath was harsh and fast and my head was disorganized.

First it was Aurora and now my nosy wolf!

A great start to ruin my day!

A deafening growl tore from my lips as I barged into my office, before slamming the door hard.

Why was everyone in Aurora's favour?

Why did they keep believing her lies?

I was about to pull out the chair to sit when her hisses flew into my head.

It hurt me that her cold attitude bruised my ego.

She had moved on and she wasn't bothered about me anymore.

Selfish bitch.

How come she didn't run after me when I left the kitchen angrily.

“Your jealousy is oozing out of you like a thick cloud of smoke.” My wolf chimed in-between my thoughts.

“Shut up!” I screamed in frustration, silencing him.

Relaxing into the chair, I almost went mad with jealousy. I could feel my face heat up in anger as my blood won't stop boiling.

Suddenly, a dark idea popped in my head. I couldn't help the ferocious smirk that played on my lips.

I would break Aurora's wings.

Since we've acknowledged each other as mates, causing her pain would be easy.

I wanted her to feel what I felt, the hurt, the humiliation, the jealousy.

My face grew dark as a figure clouded my mind.

Rosa.

I would fuck her so hard and make her screams deafening that her moans will overshadow that of Aurora's.

Aurora would be so broken, I couldn't wait to see her face by the time in done fucking Rosa brutally.

Next time, she would think twice before hurting my feelings and treating me like I didn't exist.

I was about to get up from the chair before a knock resounded on my door.

My brows furrowed in confusion as I kept wondering who the person was.

It was definitely not Aurora, neither was it my brothers as their familiar scent would have given them away.

The knock echoed through my office again, making my eyes travel to the 3D wall clock.

I tilted my head, trying to guess who the person behind the door was.

Who the hell knocks around 12:45 am and what does the person want?

I was certain it wasn't Jasper.

Who could the motherfucker be?!

“Who's there?” I asked calmly, straining my ears to catch any unusual sound or movement.

Maybe it was an enemy.

Fuck!

An enemy finally snaked its way into the castle.

My mind was already a mess when a small weak voice sounded.

“It's me, Alex.”

I could hear the person's breath shake. He was overwhelmed by fear and sadness.

Alex?

“Who the fuck is Alex?” I questioned, getting up to my feet as I was ready to pounce on any strange person.

“It's Alex, your housekeeper,” her weak voice filled my ears, causing me to heave a sigh of relief.

My forehead creased in confusion as though the purpose of her visit troubled my heart.

“Enter,” I ordered, using my Alpha tone.

My eyes were pinned on the door as I watched her small figure turn the door knob gently before pushing it open.

Like a mouse, she sneaked in with her back against the door and her head bowed in submission.

“Your majesty,” her head lowered and she gulped in fear as my dreadful aura blasted her.

“What brings you here, Alex?” I asked. Like a hawk gawking at its prey, my eyes didn't leave her for a second, neither did I blink.

I kept a blank expression, hiding the anxiety that ate me up.

“I can't keep this anymore. My heart is weak. I…I” she broke into tears, falling on her knees as she wept uncontrollably.

My mind was driven into a state of confusion as I watched her display before me.

“What is all this, Alex?” I asked in a warning tone.

Fear Stricken, she wiped the tears that sat on her face before taking a deep breath.

Her eyes were red and swollen and her face was pale.

I knew it was serious. Alex wasn't the type that joked.

“I came here to confess, my King,” She broke the news, making my brows shoot up.

“About what?” I asked irritatedly.

I hated that she was ruining my mood and plans for Aurora.

“It's about Aurora,” she replied softly.

Silence descended as her shaky fingers gripped the helm of her dress tightly.

Speak of the devil.

I sat up as the atmosphere became more pensive.

Leaving forward on my table, I urged her to speak as her words peaked my interest.

She burst into tears again, making irritation flood through my body.

“Will you speak or get out of my office? I have better things to do than listening to your annoying crocodile tears!” I yelled in rage, banging the table so hard that caused her to jump in fear.

“I'm sorry, my King. I just came here to expose the truth. The baby was yours. Rosa framed her. She wasn't cheating on you.” Alex said in a rush.

Arching a brow, I watched her keenly in confusion.

“Make it clear to me. Who are you talking about?”

My heart began to pound against my ribs as a name began to ring in my head.

I hope I was wrong.

“Aurora. All this while, Aurora was innocent. I have evidence to prove it.”

My hands were stretched out almost immediately as I impatiently walked up to her.

“Let me have a look, but if your so-called evidence is not solid enough, you will be persecuted for slandering the mistress. And I won't hesitate to kill you!” I threatened her.

The effect caused her knees to wobble as she almost fell to the floor in fear.

“I swear my king, I am telling the truth,” she trembled. Her shaky hands disappeared into the pocket that was attached to her long flare gown before reappearing.

Without saying a word, she placed a voice recorder and a camera in my hands and urged me to feed my eyes.

Carefully, I played the voice recording before checking out the pictures in the camera one after the other and I almost lost it.

“Rosa has always been jealous of Aurora since the first day she stepped her feet into the castle. She hated her even more, especially when she learnt that she was your property.”

“She plotted with Ray to frame her so that she will be gotten rid of. She wants all attention to be on her, and not Aurora. Day and night Rosa plotted ways to become Luna.”

“Seeing that Aurora became pregnant while she couldn't because her womb is weak, she set Aurora up by working hand-in-hand with Ray whom she has sex with frequently and pays heavily by stealing your money to drug Aurora then lay naked beside her so that you will feel they are having an affair.”

She sniffed before lowering her head. “You fell for it, my King. You banished Aurora because you weren't patient enough to find out the truth. Ray tried to be Aurora's friend and because she was free-minded, she accepted him. The day she was drugged, I saw it but before I could rush to where they were, she had drunk all of the content.”

Tears stained her eyes as she pinned them on my lost and scared ones.

“The baby was mine?” I asked in fear.

“Triplets. They were triplets,” she answered and my heart shattered at once.

“My King…”

“Get out! Get out now!” I ordered, standing before the air conditioner.

I was strangely hot.

Watching her shut the door, I screamed my lungs out, punching the wall.

My hands trembled and they began to grow lifeless.

Carefully, I placed the camera and voice recorder on the table before slumping on the floor.

Tears of regret began to drop from my eyes as my mind made a flashback of the incident and the nasty things I did to Aurora.

I was a bad mate. She didn't deserve me.

Fuck!

This can't be true. Someone wake me from this nightmare!

Suddenly, it felt as if oxygen was leaving the room at a high speed and I started suffocating.

Beads of sweat gathered on my forehead and the atmosphere became tense and hot.

I couldn't believe all that I had heard.

Maybe it was a joke.

I played the evidence again, watching it with rapt attention.

Aurora was in innocence all the way!

I was a big fool.

I let Rosa fool me twice because of my impatience.

Now I lost my sons.

I killed my babies and subjected my mate to a hard life alone in the dangerous woods.

I was a monster. I deserve to die.

Despite trying to vindicate herself, I blamed her and called her terrible names. Slut, bitch, selfish, liar, cheap slut.

The more I watched the camera, the more I felt like dying.

How would I make things right with Aurora?

Will Aurora ever forgive me?
