Epilogue
My Dearest Myrtle,
I hope this letter finds you well. I am not sure why you did not meet me for the train, and I do not know if I want to know the real reason. If it is because you do not love me, I could not bear to hear it.
Please know I still love you with all my heart. I will make it to Paris safely. I will continue to work hard and live out my dream. When I have made something of myself, I am coming back for you. I hope to be all that you will ever need, hope for, and want.
I will see your face every morning when I wake up and every night before I go to bed. I will draw you daily, not as a reminder of your portrait, because your beauty is something I could never forget. Because when I draw you, I feel close to you. I will remember how your skin felt beneath my fingers, how your sweet smell intoxicated me, and the taste of you on my tongue.
I long for the day when our physical bodies reunite, but know, my sweet Myrtle, you have my heart and soul, completely.
Yours,
Samuel William Thomas
