Chapter 393: I Don’t Want To Make Any More Mistakes
Nelson was silent for a few seconds.
“Uncle Nelson, I want to reinvestigate the car accident again,” Cristofer continued.
“Cristofer, you shouldn’t bother doing that,” Nelson suggested instantly.
“It’s about the cause of my parents’ deaths. I should investigate it,” Cristofer stubbornly insisted.
“You know I’m not referring to the car accident,” Nelson said, “We were talking about where you went, but you changed the topic abruptly. If you didn’t do that, I would believe that you are not the one who saved Estelle. But you did. Now I’m sure that you saved her today.”
Hearing this, Cristofer took a deep breath and said, “Uncle Nelson, I don’t want to make any more mistakes.”
“What do you mean? I saved you twice and entrusted my business to you. I advised you to be rational and not be blinded by frivolous relationships with women, ultimately leading to your remarkable success. Are you implying that these were all mistakes?” Nelson said with a tone tinged with displeasure.
“Uncle Nelson, I know that I owe you a debt of gratitude that I can never fully repay, but I...”
“Enough. Say no more,” Nelson interrupted, “You mentioned that the two of you would simply put on an act in front of your grandfather to ensure his happiness, right?”
“Yes.”
“Then tell me how soon that act will end.”
“The doctor said that my grandfather is in a bad condition. I want my grandfather to live a happy life in his last days,” Cristofer replied to him in a deep voice.
“So, you mean you will cut all ties with her after your grandfather passed away?” Nelson asked.
Cristofer frowned and tightened his grip on the phone.
“Cristofer, I’ll believe you this time since you said so. I hope you won’t let me down,” Nelson said seriously, then hung up the phone.
Cristofer stood still silently for a long time.
“Is there anything urgent in your company?” Estelle, who had been waiting nearby, slowly walked over when seeing him hang up the phone.
“No, there’s nothing urgent. It’s just a trifle,” Cristofer said with a smile as he put his phone into his pocket.
“Really?” Estelle's brow raised a bit.
“Really. I’m only powerless in handling our relationship. Dealing with business affairs is easy for me. Don’t forget that my nickname is Scary Demon. My employees are all afraid of me.”
Upon hearing this, Estelle recalled the moment when Eva had shared Cristofer’s nickname, given to him by his employees, with a look of panic on her face.
With a gentle smile, Cristofer extended his hand toward her and suggested, “Since we’re heading back to the Hans’ Residence, let’s prepare for our act.”
Estelle gazed at his outstretched hand, let out a small sigh, and slowly placed her hand in his. Since Cristofer had an injured left hand, he could only hold hers with his right.

“Mom!” As soon as the two of them entered the villa, Yvonne threw herself into Estelle’s arms.
“Dad, I miss you so much!” Yohan said happily as he ran towards Cristofer.
Seeing that Yohan was about to throw himself into Cristofer’s arms, Estelle was startled and quickly stopped him. “Yohan, your Dad had a busy night last night and didn’t get much sleep. Today, he’s had a long day, and he’s very tired. Let him rest for a bit, okay?”
Yohan blinked his big eyes in confusion and asked, “Dad, did you go fight the bad guys again?”
At that moment, Luke, who had been busy in the kitchen, rushed over upon hearing Yohan’s question. He picked Yohan up and said, “Oh, my little sweetie, we shouldn’t ask about that.”
Yohan looked even more confused. “Why not? Dad always answered me when I asked that before. He never said I couldn’t ask. Why can’t I ask now?”
“You’ll understand when you grow up. For now, it’s best not to ask,” Luke replied.
“Why?”
Luke chuckled and said, “Look at your Dad. He looked tired, right?”
Yohan scrutinized Cristofer’s face and nodded in agreement. “Yes, Dad looks really tired. He has dark circles.”
“Now, take a look at your Mom. See how she’s blushing?”
“Yes! Mom, why are you blushing?”
Before Estelle could respond, Luke chimed in with a knowing smile, “It’s just something that happens sometimes.” Then he shifted the conversation, saying, “Yohan, I made your favorite sweet soup. We’ve got plenty in the dining room. How about we go have some?”
Yohan seemed to forget about his previous question and happily agreed, “Yes, sweet soup sounds great, Grandpa!”
Yohan was still puzzled, but the allure of sweet soup won over his curiosity about Estelle’s blushing.
“Yes, sweet soup! I want two bowls, no, three!” Yohan declared.
“Of course, my boy. You can have as much as you want. And what about you, Yvonne? Would you like some sweet soup, too?” Luke inquired.
With a sweet voice, Yvonne asked, “Does the soup have eggs in it, Grandpa Luke?”
“Indeed, it does. I know you love eggs, so I made sure to add some to the soup.”
“Wow! Then I’ll have three bowls of soup too!” Yvonne exclaimed with excitement.
“Alright, three bowls it is! Let’s head to the dining room, everyone!” Luke announced happily.
The two children then ran to the dining room quickly.
Before heading to the dining room, Luke turned to gaze at Cristofer and Estelle, a smile of satisfaction on his face. He remarked, “It’s wonderful to see you two so close again. If I had known the sweet soup last night would work such wonders, Old Mr. Hans and I might have...” He stopped short and chuckled, clearly embarrassed by his own thoughts.
Mentioning the sweet soup from the previous night left a blush on all three of their faces, especially Estelle. Her cheeks reddened even more as Luke brought it up, rendering her momentarily speechless.
Observing Estelle’s embarrassment, Cristofer stepped forward, positioning himself between her and Luke. He spoke up, “Uncle Luke, it has been a long and tiring day for us. We’d like to go upstairs, take a shower, and freshen up before joining you for sweet soup.”
Luke nodded with an understanding smile and agreed, “Of course, go ahead. A hot shower can do wonders to relieve fatigue. Estelle, you may not have any spare clothes here, as it’s late and the stores are closed.”
Cristofer chimed in, “That’s not an issue. She can wear my clothes for now, and I’ll buy her some new ones tomorrow.”
“Very well,” Luke agreed and smiled at them.
Cristofer and Estelle had known each other for many years, and Cristofer was intimately familiar with her. Even with his back turned to her, he instinctively reached out his hand and grabbed hers accurately.
“Then we’ll go back to the room first,” he suggested.
“Okay.”
“Wait,” Estelle suddenly remembered something and pulled his sleeve to stop him immediately.
Cristofer halted his steps and turned to look at her with a curious expression. “What’s on your mind?” he inquired softly.
Estelle bit her lower lip and hesitated for a moment before whispering in his ear, “The sweet soup today is just sweet soup, right? Uncle Luke wouldn’t add anything to it, would he?”
