Isabella’s P.O.V.The moment we entered the cellar, it was like walking into the darkness, the light around us disappeared like that tub of ice-cream from the fridge, no one knows where it went. But unlike the tub of ice-cream, this died out light made the surrounding feel cold and chilly. The cellar didn’t have any windows or even vents for light to seep in, it felt like being buried alive in here; and the fact that it was located underground gave a weird unfriendly vibe to it.
Of course, I am not supposed to feel all this after what I do to people, but they deserve it and I have my way of punishing them; yet this darkness makes me feel terrifies me to no ends. I am so petrified by this distasteful and dead silence down here that I grab Mason’s arm in a hard, painful hold; how do I know this you ask? I heard him hiss when my fingers wrapped around his wrist.
It’s like he knows what’s bothering me as he loosens my grip with his other hand and moves a little behind me; the next thing I know is that the room is so bright that the light hitting my eyes is almost blinding and this time it’s me hissing from the sudden change in proximity. After blinking a few times, the first thing that catches my eye is the person chained to a heavy metal chair at the far end of the room.
I turn around a little to check the room out and notice that there’s hardly anything except for a hard bed at the right side of the door which has a few medical equipment around it where as the left side has an open bathroom with a toilet beside it, no walls to cover it up, no privacy while your doing the nasty; that makes me scrunch up my face a little. I turn to look at the culprit and notice a table at the far right hand side of his chair, which is empty; basically, other than the medical area, the open bathroom and the chair to which he is strapped in with a table at the corner, this room is pretty much empty.
I feel Mason inch closer to me as he whispers, “He is out cold due to the pain, so if you don’t want to do this or don’t feel like it, it’s totally okay; we can just leave princess.” I turn to him, feeling a little offended at his words as I hiss a little to rudely, “I know what I’m doing Mason, do not ever tell me what I can or can’t do. And if this is too much for you, I think you should go and leave him to me; I’ll take care of this son of a bitch.” He looks shocked at my words as he opens and closes his mouth a few times to say something but fail miserable at it, I turn to look at the culprit as I ask, “What’s his name?” He gulps down before clearing his throat as he answers, “Jackson Mills.”
I nod to acknowledge his answer as I speak again to say, “I need you to get me a few things and they should be here in the next ten minutes. From the look on his face, I can say that he won’t be out for too long, it’s almost time; so get me them and soon.”
“What do you want?” he asks, without back questioning me about my plans with the guy, I look at Mason in the eye as I inform him, “I need you to get me a two glass syringes, salt, lemon, a beaker to mix solutions, water and lastly, I want you to get me a bottle of concentrated hydrochloric acid” I end my list with a devilish smirk, something flashes through his eyes when he realizes what I’m about to do; but soon he masks it up with a nod, making me wonder if it was fear.
“Are you sure about this princess?” he asks again, his words hit like a harsh slap to my face as I glare at him before asking, “Are you worried about some fucker who threw Acid on your pack member Mason?” He replies without sparing a breath as he says, “I don’t care if you kill him, because it’s not him I’m worried about baby, it’s YOU!”
His words makes my heart flutter and the next thing I do shocks me as well; I grab his face within my palms and peck him lips in the most gentle way as I say, “As long as I have you, I’ll be fine; just trust me when I say, I can do this. Stop worrying about me and be the support I want you to be, the one you have been all this time. It’s all I need Mason, it’s all I’m asking for; the question is can you give it for me?”
His smile is so genuine, that it makes me skip a beat as he bends down a little to peck my forehead in the most loving manner as he mumbles, “I’m always there for you love, if support is all you want than I promise you, I’ll be there for you. Do what you want, because I believe you when you say that you can do it and even if you fall, just know that I’ll be standing here to pick you back up; because I lo…”
His words are cut mid-sentence by the sound of the door opening, followed by the arrival of Aiden and Blake. We both have our complete attention towards them, when Blake shouts like an excited teenager, “We come with goodies people.” I look at him a little confused while I hear Mason chuckle at his words, my confusion does not go unnoticed by Aiden as he slowly informs, “We brought the things that you asked for.” “Oh” is my reply as I turn to point towards the table beside the chair as I continue, “Keep it over there.” Aiden simply nods as he makes his way towards the table and starts removing things from the bag which is being held in his right hand, while he takes thing from his left; I don’t even realize when I mouth my thoughts out loud as I say, “You’re left handed!” which comes out as an expression. My statement grabs everyone’s attention as I feel 3 pair of eyes on me; I look around at everyone and say, “What? It wasn’t supposed to some out loud.” A few chuckles are heard around me, as Aiden answers,” Yes I am, is that a bad thing?” I shake my head so fast to deny his assumptions that I end up feeling a little lightheaded, once it passes I speak, “No, in fact, it is said that left handed people are smarter that right handed ones; so that makes you the smartest person in this room. Unless and until, there is another left-handed person between us.” I look around to see if Mason or Blake say anything about being left-handed which to my luck, they don’t, so that confirms my assumption about Aiden; but then suddenly a raspy voice says, “I’m left-handed, so he isn’t the only smart person in this room princess.”
The moment the person’s voice falls on our ears, all our attention is drifted towards him and there he is sitting all ragged up with bruises and cut marks going up and down his body, with a burst lip and swollen eye with a bruise surrounding it. Even if he is all beaten up, the smirk is still attached to his face as if he did not just get beaten up for a lifetime, as if he is not at the edge of the cliff, as if he is not staring in the eye of his own death. Three growls of different intensity are heard from around me as one of them follows it with a word, “JACKSON” and that person being none other than Mason. I, on the other hand, am excited about what stands ahead; this fucker sitting in front of me has no idea how I’m going to wash that smirk of his face and turn it into cries, painful cries; and the fact that he thinks he doesn’t care about what happens to him now, well let me just tell you, he is so going to more than just care about it; he is going to REGRET his actions and I’m going to make sure it happens.
I walk towards him, standing in front as I say, “Of course you aren’t Mills; after all which dumb person would throw acid after being rejected and to say, on a person that isn’t even your mate, says something about your smartness, doesn’t it?”
