Entangled With My Rival CEO

Chapter 104

Ch. 105 / 134 Sep 17, 2024

Under the soft glow of the moonlight, Camilla and Edward stood together on a secluded beach, their fingers entwined.

The gentle swaying of the waves, harmonizing with Edward's latest single 'Till the End of Time' resonating from nearby stereo speakers, created a soothing and melodic ambiance by the shore.

Their eyes met, and at that moment, the world around them faded into insignificance.

Time seemed to stand still as they leaned in, their lips almost touching...

"Cut!" The music director's voice boomed through the speaker, interrupting the romantic scene. He appeared visibly frustrated, his left hand resting on his hips.

"I'm sorry, but we need to do that take again," he announced, his voice trying to maintain composure despite the obvious irritation.

"The chemistry just isn't there. I need to feel the passion, the emotion. It needs to be raw and real, like it's coming straight from your hearts."

The director handed the speaker to one of his assistants and then walked over to where Edward and Camilla stood.

Upon reaching them, he put some distance between them before guiding Edward's right hand and placing it on his waist.

"You seem reluctant and scared to hold her, which is very contrary to what I need you to show."

"You need to hold her like she is yours... firm and confident... okay?" He said, looking back at Camilla to see if she also understood his message, to which she nodded.

After removing Edward's hand from his waist, he turned fully to Camilla. "Also, Camilla, try to lean into him a little more, like you're really crazy about him and can't get enough of him. Feel the love, the longing, and let it show in your eyes," he instructed.

Though exhausted from shooting all day, Camilla nodded, trying her best to embody the director's vision.

Edward, however, seemed to notice her exhaustion and hesitancy, letting out a breath that caught the director's attention.

"What's the matter?" The director asked, his tone shifting from sternly demanding action to one of concern.

"No, no..." Edward started, then paused. "It's not you. It's just that we've spent a lot of time on this particular scene... maybe we should just scrap it from the video and do something much easier."

The director studied Edward's expression for a moment before a small smile tugged at the corners of his lips.

"I understand that it's been a long day, and shooting romantic scenes can be challenging," he said, his tone now gentle and understanding.

"But trust me, this scene is crucial to the emotional impact of the video. I believe in both of you, and I know you can bring out the passion and authenticity I'm looking for," he added, patting Edward on the shoulder before turning his attention to the production crew.

"Okay, let's take it from the top again," he said, moving back to his previous standing.

Camilla and Edward also retook their positions once more, determined to give it their all.

With a command from the director to start, Edward slowly but confidently wrapped his arm around Camilla's waist, drawing her close to him.

Camilla responded by leaning into him, almost as though she were melting into his embrace while staring at him with adoration in her gray eyes.

In return, Edward looked completely infatuated with her, gazing down at Camilla lovingly.

Slowly, their lips met in a soft and passionate kiss, both letting go of their previous reservations.

Camilla's fingers gently brushed through Edward's hair, while his hand caressed her cheek with utmost tenderness, and the kiss deepened.

The director watched with satisfaction as the passion and emotion he had been looking for finally came alive on camera.

"Cut!... That's a wrap!" He yelled through the speaker, a wide grin spreading across his face.

The entire crew erupted into applause, cheering for the captivating performance they had just witnessed.

Camilla and Edward pulled away from the kiss, Edward's face in particular flushed with both the intensity of the scene and the genuine emotions he had allowed to surface.

While Camilla, on the other hand, seemed to maintain a calm and composed demeanor, though deep down, she couldn't help but feel a mix of weirdness and nervousness.

Was it about kissing another guy in such a way she had kissed Alexander that brought about these feelings?

She wasn't quite sure, and as the applause continued, she stole a glance at Edward, whose cheeks looked even more flushed.

The director walked over to them, his smile never fading.

"That was amazing," he praised, clapping his hands. "Truly incredible work, both of you."

"Thank you," Camilla replied, her voice soft but appreciative. "So I guess we're done with shooting all the scenes?"

The director nodded, his satisfaction evident in his expression. "Yes, that's a wrap for all the scenes," he confirmed.

"You both did an outstanding job today, and I couldn't be happier with the results," the director said, giving Edward a small pat on the shoulder before turning around to address the rest of the crew.

Edward then with a gentle smile, turned to Camilla.

"You were amazing," he said, his eyes reflecting genuine admiration. "I'm so glad I had the opportunity to work with you."

"Thanks, and I feel the same," Camilla replied, returning his smile, though still feeling a sense of uneasiness.

A small awkward silence hung between them as they stared at each other, unsure of what to say next.

Finally, Camilla broke the silence, "I should get home... I'm a little tired," she said.

Edward nodded understandingly. "Of course, it's been a long day. You should get some rest," he replied. "I'll drive you."

"Don't you need to finish things here?" Camilla asked, pointing towards the filming crew packing up the equipment.

Edward shook his head. "No, it's all right. Ava and the management can handle the rest. Besides, I want to make sure you get home safely," he said with a reassuring smile.

Camilla hesitated for a moment before nodding. "Thank you," she said appreciatively, and they both started walking towards Edward's car parked nearby.

About an hour later, the car came to a stop at Camilla's residence, and she turned to Edward, thanking him once again for the ride.

"You really didn't have to do this," she said, feeling a bit guilty that he was going out of his way to drive her home.

Edward smiled warmly. "I wanted to. It's no trouble at all," he reassured her.

An awkward silence fell between them once more and Edward couldn't help but feel the urge to kiss Camilla again, his gaze fixed on her lips.

He leaned in a bit, and all the while, Camilla didn't move an inch until when his lips got dangerously close to hers did she speak, "What are you doing?" she asked, her voice showing a hint of irritation and a frown already forming on her face.

He froze mid-movement, finally getting his bearings, he cleared his throat, "I'm sorry," Edward said softly, pulling back slightly.

"I...I didn't mean to overstep." He took a step back, giving her space, and ran a hand through his hair, feeling a mix of embarrassment and regret.

Camilla's frown softened as she simply reached for her purse from the car's center console storage. "Good night," she said, opening the car door and stepping out.

"Good night," Edward replied, trying to hide the disappointment in his voice, though it was evident to him that he had misread the moment.

As Camilla closed the car's door and turned to head towards the building's entrance, Edward couldn't help but express his frustration.

"Damn you Edward!... what were you thinking?" he muttered to himself, banging his hand on the steering wheel.

Regret washed over him as he replayed the scene in his mind.

He wished he could take back that impulsive move and cherish the beautiful connection they had shared during the shoot in his mind instead.

Trying to push away his disappointment and embarrassment, Edward took a deep breath, started the car's engine, and drove off into the night, hoping to put the awkward incident behind him.
