The next morning, the hallways of Ridgemont High buzzed with the usual energy of a school day. But as I walked through the doors, something felt… different. The atmosphere was charged, heavier than usual.
Students were gathered in a tight circle near the lockers, their voices rising in excitement. Curious and uneasy, I pushed my way through the crowd.
At the center of the chaos, three figures were tangled in a full-on brawl: Aiden, Asher, and Grayson. My stomach dropped.
“Back off, Aiden!” Asher growled, his voice echoing in the hallway. His fists were clenched, his usually calm demeanor replaced by fury.
“I had my eyes on her first!” he howled, shoving Aiden back against the lockers.
Aiden wiped the corner of his mouth with the back of his hand, smirking despite the bruise forming on his cheek. “You’re delusional, Asher. You’ve done nothing but play the nice guy card. Guess what? It didn’t work.”
Grayson, standing slightly apart from the chaos, suddenly lunged forward, grabbing Aiden by the collar. His voice was deadly calm, which somehow made him even more terrifying. “You kissed her,” he said, his tone low but filled with venom. “Knowing everything, you still kissed her.”
“And you didn’t?” Aiden snapped back, shoving Grayson off. “You’re no better than me!”
“I didn’t claim her like some fucking prize!” Grayson shot back, his calm demeanor cracking. “You both need to back the hell off!”
I stood frozen, my heart pounding in my chest as the fight escalated.
Asher stepped between his brothers, his face a mask of rage. “You’re one to talk, Grayson. You’re the one sneaking into her room like a creep! You kissed her, knowing I already claimed her!”
Grayson’s jaw tightened, and he shoved Asher backward. “Claimed her? She’s not yours, Asher. She doesn’t belong to any of us.”
“Maybe not to you,” Asher hissed, his voice sharp. “But she’s not just some random girl, Grayson. She’s—”
“Enough!” Aiden shouted, cutting him off. His voice carried over the crowd, silencing the hallway. He turned to Grayson, his grin gone, replaced with something darker. “You can play the noble card all you want, but we both know you’re just as twisted as the rest of us. Admit it—you want her too.”
Grayson didn’t answer, but his silence said everything.
“Stop it!” I finally found my voice, stepping into the circle despite the heavy stares. My heart pounded, but I forced myself to keep going. “What the hell is wrong with you three? This isn’t some game!”
The crowd murmured, the students clearly enjoying the drama. Aiden turned to me, his expression softening slightly. “Sunshine, this doesn’t concern you.”
“Of course it concerns me!” I snapped. “You’re literally fighting about me in the middle of the school!”
Asher’s gaze flicked to mine, a hint of guilt flashing in his eyes. “Lila—”
“No,” I cut him off. “Whatever this is, whatever you think I am to you, stop. I didn’t ask for any of this.”
Grayson stepped closer, his dark eyes meeting mine. For a moment, he looked like he wanted to say something, but then he shook his head and turned away.
Before anyone could say anything else, a sharp voice cut through the tension.
“This is all your fault!”
I turned to see Tessa pushing through the crowd, her face twisted in anger. Her blonde hair was pulled into a perfect ponytail, and her designer bag hung from her shoulder like a weapon.
“What?” I managed, taking a step back.
“You heard me, whore,” she spat, her voice dripping with venom. “This is your fault. You’ve been stringing them along, playing all innocent while ruining everything.”
The crowd gasped, their eyes darting between us. My cheeks burned, but I didn’t back down.
“I didn’t do anything to you,” I said, my voice shaking with anger.
Tessa’s eyes narrowed. “Oh, really? You didn’t do anything? Then why are they fighting over you? Why is everyone talking about you?”
I opened my mouth to respond, but before I could, she stepped forward and slapped me across the face.
The sound echoed in the hallway, and the crowd went silent. My cheek stung, and tears pricked the corners of my eyes, but I refused to let them fall.
“This is all your fault,” Tessa said again, her voice trembling with fury. “You should’ve stayed in whatever hole you crawled out of.”

Dear Diary,
The hallway was chaos—Aiden, Asher, and Grayson tearing into each other while the whole school watched. They weren’t just fighting. They were unraveling, their secrets and tempers spilling out for everyone to see. And then Tessa made sure the spotlight burned on me.
“This is all your fault.” Her words hit like the slap that followed, but it wasn’t the pain that stayed with me. It was the way she looked at me—like I’d stolen something from her, like she wasn’t the one in control anymore.
And maybe she’s right.
Grayson’s silence spoke louder than Tessa’s accusations. He looked at me like I was a problem he couldn’t solve, as I mattered in a way none of them want to admit. I thought I was just their target, their game. But now?
Now, I think I’m the one holding all the pieces. Or maybe I’m just out of my mind.
