Undeniable Attraction
Broderick was shocked to see her shut the door on him. He hasn't done anything wrong, he thought to himself. Broderick knew she mumbled aome angry words but he couldn't make a meaning of what she said.
Perhaps, she was angry because she showed up early this morning. He turned and walked back to where his car was. His two hands gripped the steering. He tightened his hand on the steering as though he would break it, his head rest helplessly on the headrest of the chair.

Amy walked back to her sit after hearing Broderick's car zoom off. She walked over to her living room and sunk to the seat. Her eyes darted seldomly to the TV before her and all of a sudden, she sat upright with so much seriousness on her face and that was as a result of what she saw.
She saw Broderick Alessandro being carried inside an ambulance, her heart sunk into sadness that she cluthed her fist hard. What in the world went wrong with him? Didn't he just leave this place a couple of minutes ago?
Her heart became very disturbed. Was it her fault for making him have an accident? She didn't even know why she was feeling guilty. She ran inside her bedroom, opened her wardrobe and immediately got dressed in a decent outfit after which she took a cab to the hospital that Broderick was.
Broderick was too popular for anyone at the hospital not to know that a man like him was in the hospital. After asking a few people around of what ward Broderick was, she began to walk towards where was described for her.
She paused all of a sudden and hid behind a wall when she heard some familiar voices speaking.
"I'm not O positive, there is no way I can donate blood, mother...not even Theresa is close to being O positive," this was Edith speaking.
"I'm not O positive either. We need to find someone that is O positive as soon as we can to donate the blood but Theresa will take the glory. If Broderick wakes from his unconsciousness and got told that Theresa donated blood for him, he will feel indebted to her for life cause she had saved his life," Nell said.
"That's right, but how do we find a trusted somebody that has a blood of O positive?" Edith asked.
"Hey, Mrs. Nell. I expect that you should have provided someone with the blood type by now. Mr. Broderick can not remain in that position for long, it's too dangerous for him," the doctor said. The doctor had told them a few minutes ago about how Broderick lost a lot of blood due to the accident.
"We are on it, doctor," Nell said and the doctor walked away from them.
Once Amy sighted the doctor, she walked towards him and said," My blood is O positive, I'll like to donate for Mr. Broderick."
The doctor looked at Amy and said," Oh! Well you can but I have to inform his family." Before the doctor could turn, Amy called, "you can't tell their family about it. I just want to help anonymously." Amy was desperate to save Broderick's life.
"Why would you want to help anonymously? I thought you want something in return from the Alessandro's family?" The doctor asked.
"Not at all, just helping liberally. But you cannot tell anyone I was the one," Amy said. What can she not do to save the father of her kids.
The doctor turned and looked towards where Theresa, Nell and Edith were and then turned back to Amy.
"Come with me, let's confirm your blood type first," the doctor said and lead Amy to the laboratory. Once her blood type was confirmed to be O positive, the doctor extracted her blood and went away.
Amy felt weak after donating the blood, she walked out gently and just wanted to go home to take some rest while hoping for Broderick to regain his consciousness. She knew that Theresa would most definitely want to take the glory of donating blood to him, she wasn't much concerned because she can easily prove her wrong by using the doctor as a witness to the fact that she was the one that donated the blood.

Broderick opened his eyes after several hours of being unconscious. Being unconscious for several hours didn't reduce the burden that was on him. He sat upright and looked at his wrist watch. While he was attempting to stand, the door opened and he saw Theresa running towards him.
"Oh my! Mr. Broderick, you are awake. I'm so happy!"
Broderick looked at her blankly and stood up still.
"Mr. Broderick, you have just received blood, you need a lot of rest. Please sit" Theresa said.
"Who donated the blood for me?" Broderick questioned.
"I, but it's nothing, we will be married officially soon anyways so you don't have to feel obligated at all," Theresa said with a smile.
The doctor knocked before walking in, seeing that Broderick was standing, he quickly beckoned on him to sit.
"Mr. Broderick, although you are awake. You still need a lot of rest," the doctor said.
Broderick sat and asked the doctor, "was she the one who donated blood for me?"
"Yes sir," the doctor responded. The doctor had told Nell that an anonymous somebody came to donate blood and Nell told him to tell Broderick that it was Theresa who donated the blood.
Theresa had a sad look on immediately as if feeling bad that Broderick didn't trust her.
"I'll rest. I need to be alone," Broderick said but doctor examined his health before walking away but Theresa remained standing before him.
Was she deaf? Didn't she hear that he needed to be alone? Eventhough Broderick knew now that it was Theresa that saved his life, he was grateful but not impressed. He was still nurturing grudges towards her for the sex they had a night before.
"Thanks for saving my life. I'm grateful," Broderick said and Theresa blushed.
"Like I said, it's nothing, Mr. Broderick. I love you and I can even sacrifice my life for you," Theresa said.
'Love?' Broderick repeated the word that was now strange to his heart.
"I need to be alone, please," Broderick said.
"Alright, rest very well, hubby," she said and walked away.
Broderick's mind drifted back to Cleo immediately. Why was he feeling very attracted towards her. She was the only person he feels he can talk to to ease the burden on him, yet it seems the woman suddenly started hating her.
Broderick remained seated sadly for another five minutes, thinking of how to resolve whatever grudges Cleo had with him.
His phone rang all of a sudden. Not many people has his number in NorthHill. Infact, he had just five saved contacts on his phone. Whoever wants to reach him always reach his personal assistant who will in turn communicate to him.
Seeing the familiar number, he answered it and waited calmly for whoever was on the other end to speak. Actually, deep down, he was wishing that this person would be Cleo.
"Mr. Broderick, I heard of your accident, hope it's not too severe and hope you are recovering?" Amy asked. Amy had tried so hard not to call but she knew she was only torturing herself, she loved him now and hence, was willing earnestly to know if he was fine.
"I'm recovering from the pain in my body, Mrs. Cleo but not the pain in my heart. Why did you treat me in such manner in the morning? You could have just told me that you did not like early morning visitors," Broderick said. That was the only logical reason he could think of behind the action of Amy to him when he was before her door in the morning.
How will Amy tell him that she was angry because he saw him half naked with Theresa and not because he appeared early in the morning.
"I'm sorry. It's just that I have heard about how overly jealous your wife can be of you. If she finds out that her husband is coming to visit another woman often, she will be offended. And you as a matter of fact, loved her so much. You shouldn't do anything that will hurt your wife such as coming to another woman's place early in the morning," Amy said.
"I lied to you, Miss. Cleo," Broderick said weakly.
"You do! What's the lie?" Amy asked.
"I didn't love Theresa. I didn't. She didn't have a place in my heart at all. But there is someone my heart pant earnestly for..." Broderick's eyes got litered with tears as he paused," only that she's dead."
Amy: "..."
Amy wondered if he was referring to his dead wife or her. Whom was his heart panting for? She was dieing curiously to know. Actually, it doesn't make sense that his heart will be panting after his late wife cause he find out three days after her death that the woman was cheating on her.
But love is tricky... it's a game of the heart. Didn't she also find Broderick half naked with Theresa yet she still kept loving him...weird!
Maybe it was his dead wife that his heart was panting for, Amy concluded.
"Mrs. Cleo. Are you worried that we can not be friends because of the social gap between us?" Broderick asked after seeing that she didn't reply him.
"Not just that. I don't want to get too close to Mr. Broderick because of his wife," Amy said and added," your wedding with her is in three days time, I don't want to be a reason why both of you will fight, and fighting with your wife now will affect your wedding." Amy said.
"The wedding with Theresa won't make me happy. I'm only obligated to it cause I'm a man of my words. But I assure you that our friendship will not affect my marriage," Broderick said.
Amy was angry knowing that he was still determined on marrying Theresa, "No. I don't want to be friend with you." She knew she was harsh but she can't help it. The real reason behind her anger can not be exposed.
"Mr. Broderick, I made a couple of research about you and I realized you don't even have a friend, you have always been alone. Why are you adamant on being a friend with me? Or...no, it can not be what I'm thinking," Amy said.
"Tell me what you are thinking, Miss. Cleo?" He requested.
"Maybe you want to be friend with me because I looked like your mistress. But that's an ironical thought cause you don't even have any feelings for your mistress. I even heard from a close source that you even punished her many times cause you had a wrong perception of her." Amy said.
"I was trying so hard to make up for the pain I caused her and I swear, if she can come back to life, I'll make her experience the sweetest life ," Broderick said with all sense of seriousness.
Amy felt her heart sunk into bitterness. Did he really meant what he say?
"Beyound the fact that you looked like my late mistress, I have an undeniable attraction towards you. I just... want to spend majority of my time with you, Mrs. Cleo. There is a space in my heart that only you can fill. Although I'm the most powerful man in NorthHill, I'm still a human being with blood and water flowing through me. I make mistakes just like anyone. Broderick added.
He continued," I have the same feelings I have for my late mistress for you. I was just too confused and proud to express the feelings to her when she was alive."
"Is it a feeling of love?" Amy asked, the words had slipped out of her mouth before she knew it.
"I don't think I can fall in love anymore. My heart is damaged. There is a long story behind my damaged heart, maybe I'll tell you in the future. I don't know how to explain the feelings I have towards you, miss Cleo...but let's continue being friend, please and don't chase me away anymore."
"Was it because I shut the door on you that you had an accident?" Amy asked.
"That's right. Even now, I wish earnestly to see you," Broderick said.
Amy's heart melted at his words, if he didn't love Theresa, why did he have sex with her then? Cause anytime she remembers both of them half naked in his room, she feels a sharp pain in her heart.
"We can only be friend if you cancel the wedding that was supposed to hold between you and the woman you did not love: Theresa."
