Awakening the Alpha's Daughter

Chapter 52

Ch. 52 / 148 Apr 01, 2026

Ariella

I drive towards Davonyé’s apartment but keep zoning out. I can't stop thinking about earlier…

No one tells you that finding your mate is a hazard.

I’ve gotta start mastering this teleporting shit because we ain't gonna be able to keep our hands off each other at school, and we definitely can't risk getting caught.

My parents would kill me.

But just being near him makes me forget all about the risks and repercussions... I want him all the damn time.

One look at him earlier and I went from nervous to turned on, and he went from angry to radiating sexual hunger. The way he looked at me had my body shaking in anticipation, but also fear, cuz I was losing my shit.

But he took control of the situation, and I ain’t ever felt so turned on in my life.

I park the car outside his apartment, then make my way into the building and up to his floor. His door opens before I even knock, so I walk straight inside.

We kiss each other to near death before I finally escape out of his arms. “As much as I want you right now, we really need to talk,” I say, stepping backwards, further away from him.

He adjusts his dick and I sigh before I turn around. I need serious help around him.

“You want a drink? I stopped by the store on the way here and got a couple things.”

“Yeah, a drink would be good. Did you get food? I can make us something?”

He nods and I follow him into the kitchen. “Yeah. I got a couple steaks. We ain't really spoken about what you eat now, so I just googled what werewolves ate and got steaks. That alright?”

I laugh. “Yeah, but Google? Really?”

He stands beside the counter and shrugs. “It was right about the mate thing.”

I smile. “I guess so.”

He makes us both a drink while I wash the steaks. I look for seasoning but he ain't got much here. I guess it don't matter cuz this ain't gonna be his place for much longer.

“So, you started getting your things together yet?” I ask as he finds me a griddle pan.

“Yeah. I'm almost done.”

“Alright, good.” I reach into my pocket for my keys, and after unhooking the spare, I hold it out to him. “The key to our place.”

He takes it from me and attaches it to his car keys. “So we really livin together now?”

“Yeah. It's up to you what you do about this place.”

“I'll talk to the landlord. See how soon I can get out of the lease.”

“Alright.” I turn back to the stove so I can start these steaks. I’m hungry. I also need to start the deeper conversations with him. “So, I was thinking... What are you gonna do about work?”

He sighs as he starts making a salad. “I don't know.”

The pan is hot enough now, so I put the steaks in before I turn to face him. “We can always delay it, Davonyé. Aura told me that I can bring you back if anything happens to you, so—”

“No. We ain’t delayin’ shit. I told you that.” He chops into the lettuce with more force than needed.

He’s so determined… “Okay, well, I could ask Aura to help?”

He gives me a quick glance. “How?”

“I dunno, but I can't see any other way, except from you losing your job, and I know you don't want that.”

“You’re right. I don't.”

“So let me ask her.”

He drops the knife and turns to face me. “I don't want you abusing your magic for me. If they fire me, I'll find another job.”

“No, let me ask her first. She can only say no.”

He sighs. I can see he's torn. “Aight.”

“And what about school? I can ask my dad to sort it.”

His jaw clenches and I know he’s not happy. “I don't like this shit, Ari. You fixin’ shit that is my responsibility.”

I step closer to him, feeling a way about what he’s just said. “These ain’t your responsibilities, Baby. They’re ours. Your problems are mine.”

“And yours are mine,” he fires back.

“Exactly. You ain’t always gonna need my help, and I know I'm gonna need yours. We're together now so we’ll deal with all our problems together. And I don't want you worrying about this. I'm the werewolf. I'm the one who's changing you. You're changing for me. All this hassle is because of me. Just let me fix it this time.”

He reaches past me to turn the steaks and then he pulls me against him. “This time,” is all he says, holding me close.

I hold him back and relief rushes through me.

I leave for home when Davonyé leaves for work. He should get home around one in the morning, so I've got plenty of time to deal with everything by the time he does. It's not too late in the day either, so my first task is to speak to mom and dad about school for Davonyé.

I don’t want him worryin’ about anything. The less stress he has on his shoulders, the better.

I drop his things inside the house and then make my way to mom and dad's. I find them in the kitchen with the seven, Jackson, my grandad Victorio, and Junia. They're talking about the baby.

I say hello to everyone and then go over to hug mom, discreetly holding the side of her stomach as I do. He's still happy. He's gonna come soon, too. I can sense it.

I release her and she gives me a look. “All good?”

I nod. “All good.”

She looks relieved as she drinks her milk. “Any news?”

I smile because she's trying to get information of out me. “Soon.” I wonder if they’ve decided on a name yet? They’ve been discussing it a lot recently.

Her eyes turn a light gold. “Great. How was school?”

“Good. Nothing to report.”

“That’s good. Where's your boy?”

I look at dad. “His name is Davonyé, Dad, and he's at work. I was hoping to speak to you real quick, though.”

“Bedroom?” Mom suggests.

“Yeah, please.”

“Excuse us for a minute,” she says, getting off her stool.

The seven continue their conversation while mom, dad, and me, all go upstairs. Dad closes the door behind us. I need to tell them quickly because I know the person dad needs to speak to is only at school for another twenty minutes.

They both sit on the bed, but I stay standing.

“What’s wrong?” Dad asks.

“Nothing’s wrong. It's just, well, I was gonna ask if you could somehow get Davonyé some time off school? He's all up to date with his schoolwork, but he’s skipped a lot of classes and his attendance isn't great. I was thinking we could both tutor him to get him ahead, or he could do the work from home while he trains?”

“That’s a good idea, but I already did that. He should get an email tomorrow, letting him know.”

I blink. “Oh.”

“You didn't think we were gonna let Davonyé suffer for changing, did you?” Mom asks, sounding surprised.

“No, of course not. It's just, he's really independent and doesn't like feeling as if he's taking handouts. I had to talk him around about it earlier.”

Dad rolls his eyes. “Oh, great. Another Abriya, then.

Mom taps his arm. “Hey!”

“Sorry, Mom, but yeah. I've convinced him this time, but I know he's not gonna wanna get anything for free.”

“That’s a shame. I was thinking of running a business idea through him.”

“A business idea?”

“Yeah.” He doesn’t elaborate.

Wow, dad’s been doing a lot. “I'll speak to him first.”

“I'll talk to him. What’s he gonna do about work?”

“I've got a few ideas.”

“Alright. And when you gonna bite him?”

“I'm thinking probably tomorrow evening.”

Mom looks cautious. “Dad will walk you through it, okay? Don't try and do it on your own.”

“I won't.” I go to sit beside mom. “I should tell you… Aura told me that my blood is the same as yours, Mom. It’s apparently so that all that descend from Ariya can protect their mates. I also can’t die because I’m an Elder.”

“Oh, thank God,” she gushes, and dad looks as equally relieved.

“Yeah. But Davonyé still can, so she’s given me the ability to bring him back if anything were to happen to him. I ain’t told him yet, but I will.”

“Wow, well, that’s great, Sweetheart. The last thing we want is for you to have to live forever without him.”

I nod. “Exactly.” I hold mom’s hand. “So now you can stop worrying about me so much.”

“We’ll always worry about you, Princess,” Dad retorts. “No matter what.”

***

I make my way back to mine to unpack Davonyé’s things. His scent is all over these clothes and I inhale deeply more than a few times to breathe that heaven in.

I take a shower after that, and then decide to send him a text.

Hey, hope work's okay. I miss you xx.

I practice my magic cuz I'm bored, and then after I permanently wax a small landing strip onto my pussy, I'm done with that, too. I visited my Uncle’s island this time, and my Nana’s cabin in England. I know they're safe places because no one’s there, but still, it’s practice, all the same.

It's not until just before nine that Davonyé replies.

I miss u 2, Bae. I keep thinkin about the theatre. You're so sexy, Ari. So damn sexy. What you doin’?

Ugh, same. I know he liked watching me touch myself. I don’t even know what possessed me to do it, but that shit was hot. I kept watching him disappear inside me and was so turned on, but it was the way he held me while he came in near silence…

God… that was everything.

I'm just lyin in bed, doin the same as you. The theatre was everything. I can't wait until you get home. You on ur break now?

He types… Yeh I am. U kno, I loved when you was rubbin on yo clit. That shit made a nigga wanna buss. I'ma eat that pussy later till you cum in my mouth.

Shit... I blush madly. I was so fucked up; I woulda done anything.

I'm ready when you are.

I wait for his reply… Bae, I'm always ready. I'm about to go speak to my manager about taking that time off. Might as well try, right? I'll let u kno.

Okay. Gud luck. xx
