They napped together for a little while after Ann begged Adam to leave her overstimulated pussy alone for a little while. She was completely and utterly spent and if she was honest, a little sore. They had indulged themselves a few more times before she put a stop to his loving attention and he had curled himself around her protectively as they snuggled under the covers together.
The man was already insatiable on an ordinary day and for some reason, him seeing her pregnant was only increasing his sexual appetite for her.
"Hey…Queenie…wake up…" Maeve's voice greeted her as she slowly came around from her nap, "I could really go for some steak right now...a big fat, juicy tomahawk steak, with crispy roast potatoes…and macaroni cheese…"
"Why am I being woken from a wonderful nap with more talk of food. Do you think of nothing else at all? Honestly! I'm not even hungry!" Ann retorted but as she turned on her side, her stomach let out a loud growl that had her freezing and staring down at her belly in shock.
"Did you do that?" She accused Maeve, narrowing her eyes.
"Not guilty." Maeve grinned smugly, "I'm in your head remember, your fragile little human body and the noises it makes is all you."
"Mmmhmm?" Ann hummed sarcastically, "Just like us being in heat is nothing to do with you either right?"
"Listen…humans get periods, we get heat. Perks of being a werewolf, I don't choose when it hits, it's just a natural bodily function. Just like your hunger..I didn't choose to make you hungry...but my suggestions of tasty foods helped remind you that you probably should eat."
Ann glowered angrily and huffed as she sat up.
"I hate you sometimes." she muttered as she reached for her long beige cardigan that had been hung by her bed for her.
"I hate you too Queenie," Maeve sniggered back, "Now go find us some meat to sink our teeth into. GAH! I can practically taste it!"
"Why do I feel like it's you getting all the damn cravings and I'm just tagging along for the ride?"
"Have you ever disliked any of the concoctions that I've pined after?" Maeve asked waspishly.
"Well…no…"
"Then shush your pie-hole and appreciate my superior culinary taste buds." Maeve sniggered, "Come on! Chop chop!"
"Will you quit it? I'm waddling for five people here."
"Five?"
"The weight of your ego is enough to count for an extra person." Ann sniped back.
"Rude."
"Ann, what...? Where are you going?" Adam's sleepy voice came from behind her as she placed her hand on the door.
"Ah I'm sorry, I didn't want to wake you," Ann grimaced apologetically, "Maeve has decided to fill my head with images of steak and crispy potatoes and if I don't feed us, she's going to drive me insane."
"OUR PUPS DEMAND MEAT AND TASTY FOOD!" Maeve yelled as Ann winced and quietly seethed.
"I swear to the goddess I am going to strangle her before these pups are out of me."
"Ok, Maeve and our pups need food. Got it. Give me a second to throw some clothes on and I'll come down with you." Adam chuckled indulgently as she grumbled under her breath.
As soon as she opened the door to her room, she was greeted by a grinning staff member who was only too eager to take her order and ran down to the kitchen excitedly.
Ann frowned as they made their way down the stairs and into the hallway, seeing Coral perched on a bench and flicking through her electronic diary.
"Oh! You're awake! Do you need anything? I can..." Coral began but she was interrupted by Ann's impatient wave of her hand.
"It's fine Coral. Maeve has already made her demands and apparently, staff are waiting outside in the hallway now to wait on my every whim." She grimaced, "What's all that about? I don't remember the staff here being so attentive."
Coral chuckled as she sneaked a look at Adam.
"Well, don't be mad with me, but I arranged for the transfer of a few of the Omega's from the Enclave and sent some of the more...belligerent ones to work there in their places." She smiled conspiratorially, "It was pretty obvious which ones were going to cause issues so I had the switch arranged as soon as you were settled. You know the girls at the Enclave adore you and it was so difficult choosing from them all so we ended up picking from a hat with a promise that we would look at rotating the staff at some point and that they would be notified at the first opportunity if any vacancies came up."
Ann nodded slowly, not completely unhappy with the idea as she turned to Adam.
"That's not a bad idea actually, perhaps I should have you take a look at the palace guards as well. It would be nice to know that we have a retainer that we can count on."
"I'll see to it as soon as you are fed, my queen." Adam grinned as he reached for Ann's hand and pressed a gentle kiss against her fingers.
"Awww you two are so freaking adorable!" Coral cooed happily, "Are you going to the dining room?"
"We are. I don't really feel comfortable eating a massive steak in my bedroom…I'm not a slob usually..." Ann grimaced as Coral smiled understandingly.
"I wouldn't worry too much about things like that right now, my Queen. You're eating for three now after all. Do you mind if I walk with you? I have a few things that I need to discuss with you."
"Of course! Is there anything I should be worried about?" Ann said with a slight frown as they began to make their way to the dining room.
"Nothing too major," Coral said in a tone that was a few octaves higher than Ann was used to hearing from her, "I just want to make sure I respond properly. I'm still new at this position and Eva said that if I was unsure, I should always, ALWAYS ask you first."
"Why do I feel like you aren't being totally honest?"
"Let's get you fed first, shall we?" Adam interceded as Coral tripped over her words as she tried to formulate a reply, "You know you won't be able to focus with Maeve clawing at the inside of your head."
Ann huffed loudly as she brushed his arm away and stomped towards the dining room.
She hated the fact that he was right, but what she hated most of all was the fact that these pregnancy hormones were starting to turn her into something that she had never wanted to become…an emotionally reactive ruler that her staff tiptoed around.
