As soon as Tony returned to the room, Ben followed him in.
“Tony.” Ben looked at him with a profound gaze.
Tony glanced back at him, then continued tidying up the room. “Is there something you need?”
“Have you gone to see Daddy?” Ben asked.
After some thought, Tony nodded. “I did.”
“What did Daddy say?” asked Ben .
Tony pondered momentarily. “They are indeed planning to take on Midnight fang pack .”
With his brother's back against him, Ben walked up directly and asked, “Why?”
“What why?” Tony retorted.
“Don't you think it's odd that Daddy and Alpha Dave insist on attacking Midnight fang pack at this time?” Ben said.
“I don't think so!” Tony said to him, seemingly nonchalant.
Seeing the situation, Ben continued, “How is it not unusual? Are you hiding something from me?” Ben asked.
“No!”
“Tony!” At that moment, Ben tugged at Tony , causing Tony to cease his movements. The latter was forced to meet his brother's gaze.
Ben looked at him and immediately knew there was definitely something Tony was hiding from him.
Tony sighed. “Midnight fang pack has attacked us several times, and now they're constantly contacting DX. Hence, this is considered a counterattack by Dad and Alpha Dave. How is this abnormal?”
“I know dealing with Midnight fang pack is inevitable, but don't you think it's a bit abrupt to do it all of a sudden?”
“It's not sudden. It's been planned for a long time!” Tony said.
Listening to his words, Ben 's eyes slightly narrowed.
Seeing his brother fall silent, Tony instinctively averted his gaze, then continued tidying up the room.
Tony was watching his brother closely. They had grown up together since birth, so Tony knew Ben very well. He was certain that Ben was hiding something from him.
Ben , however, was not in a hurry. He casually sat down and started a conversation. “Don't you have anything to say about Nelly 's sudden weight loss, Tony?”
Tony 's movements faltered for a moment. Then, as if afraid that Ben might notice something, he continued tidying up. “What did you say?”
Ben glanced at him. “We were only out for a few days, and when we came back, Nelly suddenly became like this. Don't you find it strange?”
Among the triplets, Tony was the most thoughtful and the best at identifying problems. Ben didn't believe that Tony had no guesses or opinions about that matter.
If there really wasn't any, it could only mean that Tony knew everything.
As Ben was deep in thought, Tony suddenly spoke up. “It is a bit strange.” He turned his head, looking straight at Ben . “That's why I asked Daddy and Nelly about it.”
In response, Ben immediately perked up. “What did they say?”
“ Nelly isn't dieting. She's sick!” Tony murmured.
“Sick?” Ben paused slightly, pondering for a moment before looking up at him. “What kind of illness is she suffering from? What could make someone lose so much weight in such a short time?”
Tony hesitated for a moment. “Gastrointestinal issues.”
“Gastrointestinal issues?” Ben still found the answer somewhat hard to believe.
“Mm-hmm.” Tony nodded. That was the only thing he could think of.
Ben looked at his brother, still somewhat doubtful.
However, he felt that Tony had no reason to deceive him. After all, their information had always been shared.
“When did you find out?” Ben asked.
“Today, not long after you came in,” Tony said.
Upon hearing that, Ben thoughtfully nodded. Then, he looked up and asked, “Did you learn it from Nelly or Daddy?”
“Daddy.”
“Could Daddy be doing this on purpose, just to trick us?” Ben questioned.
After giving it some serious thought, Tony realized something. “If it really is a gastrointestinal issue, what about Spencer? He's very skilled and can cure all sorts of complex diseases. Can't he treat Nelly 's gastrointestinal problem?”
Tony paused slightly, then said, “Who said he's not treating her now? Haven't you seen Daddy feeding Nelly all sorts of food all day long? He's just nourishing her health.”
“But—”
When Ben was about to say something, Tony suddenly interrupted him. “Ben , if you're really worried about Nelly , then just spend more time with her when you're free. Leave the rest to Spencer.”
Ben initially wanted to say something but chose to remain silent in the face of Tony 's “authority.”
Seeing his brother fall silent, Tony reached out and placed his hand on Ben 's shoulder. “Ben , I'm also going to participate in Dad's surprise attack on Midnight fang pack . I'll need some time to prepare. As for Nelly , you and Donna should spend more time with her!”
“Did Daddy agree to your participation?” Ben asked.
Tony nodded. “Of course. Otherwise, I'd have to spend all my energy figuring out what Daddy is up to.”
In response, Ben nodded. “Do you need my help?”
“No need, you just stay home and keep Nelly company.”
Ben nodded. “I can do it.”
“Off you go,” Tony said, looking at his brother.
Ben nodded, then slowly started to walk toward the door. However, just as he was about to reach the door, he suddenly thought about something.
Turning around, he watched Tony busying about, his gaze gradually becoming more complex.
“Tony.” He suddenly spoke up.
Upon hearing that, Tony turned his head to look at his brother. “Is there anything else?”
“Before you leave to find Magus, you kept emphasizing that I should spend more time with Nelly ... Did you already know something?”
Tony was taken aback for a moment.
He wasn't surprised by Ben 's reaction.
On the contrary, it would be problematic if Ben didn't thought of that.
Tony just didn't expect his brother to realize it so quickly.
Looking at Ben , Tony was at a loss for words for a moment.
Seeing Tony fall silent, Ben slowly walked back to him. “Tony, something's not right about this. Spencer's medical skills are incredible. He can definitely cure a simple gastrointestinal issue. Also, before you left, you kept telling me to spend more time with Nelly . I felt something was off with you then,
and considering what happened these past few days, I think you must be hiding something from me!” Ben looked at him with certainty.
Tony knew that if he wanted to keep the matter a secret, he would have to play tough.
“What do you think I'm hiding from you, then?” Tony retorted.
Ben furrowed his brows. “I'm asking you the question!”
“I haven't been keeping anything from you, though!”
Suddenly, Ben thought of something and looked at Tony . “Today, before Donna and I came in, you were in the room with Nelly . What did you two talked about? Why were your eyes red when we entered?”
“Didn't Nelly say—”
“Don't use Nelly 's criticism of you as an excuse. You know I don't buy it,” Ben said, looking at his brother. “We've made bigger mistakes than this while growing up, but I've never seen Nelly criticize you like this, to the point that you cried. I'm not a fool, Tony. I'm your younger brother, born just seconds after you. Even if I'm not as smart as you, I'm not that naive.”
